I think cooking is in our family. My Grandma owned a restaurant, my brother is a chef, my Grandpa was a baker on a laker ship. I work fulltime but come every evening and make a home cooked meal. I always have it planned ahead and enjoy grocery shopping. I only wish we had a butcher shop in Alliston. I have a passion for baking. I remember my Grandpa teaching me how to make fresh shortbread, using a special board he had. I just love to cook and research food and recipes. I am known as the butter tart queen!! For Thanksgiving I made my daughters homemade caramel apples decorated with candy corn etc...I love to make cabbage rolls and homemade meatpies. Every once in a while I forget something or substitute and get that feeling of "oh, oh" back to the drawing board. One time I made cabbage rolls, they simmered for hours, smelled so good. Of course it was a night we had company and.....the rice was crunchie!!!!!
