Being Silly
About this Cook
I think cooking is in our family. My Grandma owned a restaurant, my brother is a chef, my Grandpa was a baker on a laker ship. I work fulltime but come every evening and make a home cooked meal. I always have it planned ahead and enjoy grocery shopping. I only wish we had a butcher shop in Alliston.
My favorite things to cook
I have a passion for baking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I remember my Grandpa teaching me how to make fresh shortbread, using a special board he had.
My cooking triumphs
I just love to cook and research food and recipes. I am known as the butter tart queen!! For Thanksgiving I made my daughters homemade caramel apples decorated with candy corn etc...I love to make cabbage rolls and homemade meatpies.
My cooking tragedies
Every once in a while I forget something or substitute and get that feeling of "oh, oh" back to the drawing board. One time I made cabbage rolls, they simmered for hours, smelled so good. Of course it was a night we had company and.....the rice was crunchie!!!!!

Anise Biscotti
Thank you, an excellent recipe..I made them to give as gifts for the holiday season with hot chocolate mix. The flavour and texture are so good and easy to make. I'm dunking one in my hot drink as I type this!!

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies I
This is the recipe I have been looking for. I left out the raisins and added, coconut and ground flax seed and ground hemp, which give them a nutty flavour. Delicate and light, very nice

World's Best Oatmeal Cookies
These are the best!!! I just made a double batch and they are the best we ever tasted. Half the batch I made a date filling and spread between 2 baked cookies.
