I started cooking when I was in 5th grade. I had eaten a piece of a cake my mom had made for someone else so I tried to make another one to replace it. The only thing that I had the ingredients for was a sponge cake- yeah- that didn't quite work out for me! Baking is my #1 love with regular cooking after that. I own a bakery with my husband and we make premium pies. At Thanksgiving, I usually stay up for 2 nights in a row baking pumpkin pies- at least 700 and pecan pies-usually around 200. We sell lots of other flavors, too. The most popular one is Lemon Meringue.
My favorite things to cook
I like anything to bake. Quick breads are my absolute favorite to make and eat.
My cooking triumphs
I finally found a chewy oatmeal cookie recipe here at all recipes! I've been looking for it for 20 years!
My cooking tragedies
The sponge cake incident was the most tragic of baking. I made my dad country gravy for the first time when I was 12 and it was pretty solid! ;)
