About this Cook
I'm a stay-at-home wife and mother. I have enjoyed cooking all of my life and learned at the elbow of my own mom and my grandmothers. Now, I have my own little girl at MY elbow and enjoy every minute of showing her the ropes!
My favorite things to cook
ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING...as long as I can experiment!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from the midwest, so it's all about fried food, rich food, gooey desserts, you name it. I realized how unhealthy all of those dishes are, so I am learning ways to make "copies" of my family's traditional recipes...only much easier on the arteries!
My cooking triumphs
Finally figured out how to make flour tortillas just like my hubby's Abuela used to make!!!
My cooking tragedies
NONE....yet!

Chicken Quesadillas
These are really good as written. However, we like to play with the ingredients, as this is a very versatile recipe. The combinations are virtually endless! The rating is based on the original recipe. However, our favorite variation...season the chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, & pepper instead of fajita seasoning. Then, instead of the onion and peppers, we add bacon and green onions and LOTS of cheese! Thanks for the base recipe!

Bacon Quiche Tarts
Donna, you must be the devil in disguise! These are TO DIE FOR!!! Have tried with several different cheeses and actually prefer cheddar...other than that, THANK YOU DONNA!!!

Sorta Salisbury Steak
These are great and easier to make than "regular" salisbury steak. The only change I made was to add lots of fresh, sliced mushrooms in the layers with the onions. YUM!!
