I'm a stay-at-home mom to two very different young boys. I also have two dogs and a husband who usually works late so I have to cook things that can be reheated. I love cookies and muffins because my boys can help me cook. It's a fun thing to do together. I also enjoy ethnic food. My family is Scottish/Finnish so I especially enjoys those cuisines. My oldenst boy's teacher gave me a recipe for wheat bread that you make in a plastic zipper bag. The boys love making that and then eating their hot bread with warm chocolate milk. It reminds me of my childhood eating my mom's homemade bread straight from the oven slathered with fresh butter we bought from an Amish dairy farmer. Making my mother-in-law's brother's recipe for Finnish coffee bread is very complicated but I make it well and impress the heck out of my husband's family. It makes me feel very good. I can't make my mother-in-law's brother's recipe for Finnish pancakes to save my life. Every time I try they are too runny and greasy.
