Brenda's Apple and Pomegranate Crisp

YUM! I saw pomegranate at the grocery and decided to try it. It really adds good color and texture to the apple crisp. I added cardamom and carmel (the store bought apple-dipping variety). Good Stuff!

Key Lime Pie - Low Carb Version

I found this to be just ok. The cream cheese flavor was overwelming. I enjoyed the crust, but I think it might be better if the crust is baked for a little while to roast the nuts.

Black Chocolate Cake

A very rich dark chocolate cake. Bakes up very moist. I used Ghirardelli Sweet Ground Chocolate and Cocoa instead of unsweetened cocoa. Tastes great with a simple powdersugar and butter based frosting. Yum! Thanks!

Apple Stuffed Chicken Breast

Bland. Even when I added cinnamin and sugar. I even coated the chicken with seasoned bread crumbs, but it still was very bland. The sauce turned to gel and did not add any flavor, it just made the house smell like booze. Would maybe try it again, if the chicken breast was marinated.

Difficult to make. Watch the milk/flour recipe carefully or it will become lumpy. Use a spoon to mix this mixture-- a whisk won't do.

Four Egg Yellow Cake

A good recipe. When it cools it becomes very heavy-almost like a pound cake. Would be a good basis for strawberry shortcake-- not an ideal birthday cake with traditional frostings--- its too heavy.

The coating was good, but the marinade didn't add a good flavor. I used tabasco, and it didn't make the chicken spicy, it just gave it an unfavorable flavor...

Ricotta Pie (Old Italian Recipe)

An interesting dish. I made it for Easter. It made far too much filling, it filled 2 deep dish pies and one regular. Worth a try if you've never tried it before, but my family and I personally didn't care too much for it. It tasted sort of like a custard pie.

Baked Ziti I

Fabulous! I use prego traditional, this is my new favorite dish! Goes great with a crusty garlic bread! I use fat-free sour cream. This is a great italian recipe that is not to be forgotten, a great change from the lasagna blues!

Blueberry Cherry Pie

It was ok. I cheated and used frozen blueberries and cherries. For some reason it was a bit runny. Would probably make a better cobbler. All in all not bad, works well with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (like most pies). I used a deep dish pie crust and it still bubbled over, next time I would use less filling.
