I am a wife (to the Love of my Life and BFF :-), homemaker, and mother to three precious little boys. When I got married, I couldn't boil water. Believe me, my cooking skills were lacking, to say the least. Since then, I have devoured cookbooks, websites, and have been blessed by much help from other women in my church. I still don't always feel like I know my way around my kitchen, but I'm getting there :~)
My favorite things to cook
I love to make dinner in the Crock Pot and enjoy all the yummy smells throughout the day. But most of all, I love to make any kind of desserts. My boys are allergic to dairy and eggs, so I'm always trying to modify recipes so they aren't missing out on "normal" foods, and love to make them little treats.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Like I said, I didn't know how to cook at all when I got married, which meant I didn't exactly have any family cooking traditions, but I hope to start some of those in my new little family! My favorite one is to make a big Sunday breakfast every week, and my family all eats breakfast together, which my boys love because "Daddy's home!" I love trying new recipes for pancakes, muffins, etc.
My cooking triumphs
My favorite cooking triumph was when my 2-year-old little boy was eating some meat loaf I made for dinner for the first time, and put his fork down, looked over at me with a big smile and pronounced, "I LIKE it!!!"
My cooking tragedies
Oh, how many to choose from :~) Probably the worst was setting up the smoke alarm when we had company when I was first trying to cook. I was trying to cook hamburgers in my cheap nonstick pan, and somehow took the nonstick coating off of the pan, and it stuck to the ground beef, and filled our apartment with smoke!
