About this Cook
I am a mother of 2 kids, I work full time and have been married since 1996.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake desserts, esp. bar cookies. One of my favorite indulgence recipes is my grandmother's Southern fried chicken!
My favorite family cooking traditions
The family Southern Fried Chicken!
My cooking triumphs
I have won two dessert contests.
My cooking tragedies
When I was 12 years old, I tried to make Salt Water Taffy and during the pulling and kneading phase, I dropped the sticky mound on the floor! My mother thought it was hilarious and still laughs about it. I was mortified at the time.

Cheddar Bacon Hamburgers
I wanted to find a recipe where you stuff the meat patty with cheese, but this one topped that plan! I didn't have any bacon or horseradish, but I used some Worchestire sauce and garlic powder, as well as the cheese. I did put the mix in the freezer for about 15 minutes before forming the patties and this helped. I cooked the burgers in a pan and they came out nicely enough as it was too cold to go outside and grill. Our whole family loved this and we will make it again, especially when I can grill 'em outside!

Chicken Tetrazzini III
I make this recipe frequently and love it, but the element of liquid was left out (as rated by other users). I add some of the chicken broth water (about 3/4 cup or to taste) that was used to boil the pasta. I suspect, and would love confirmation of this, that perhaps the author left out one step in the recipe! The cheddar cheese in the sauce, as well as the topping of more cheese and the almonds, gives the dish a very rich and tangy flavor!

Garlic Cheddar Chicken
My husband asks for this dish! I used Panko bread crumbs and it added a nice crunch. To tenderize the chicken breasts, I also pounded them out slightly with the flat edge of a meat mallet before dipping in the garlic and butter. I very highly recommend this entree, paired with Rice a Roni rice pilaf variety and a steamed veggie of your choice.
