About this Cook
I'm a working mommy to 2 little tornados. My husband and I live in a small town in Central Wisconsin. We love to travel and spend time with our families. I really enjoy visiting farmers markets and have been experimenting with canning the last few years.
My favorite things to cook
Quick and Easy! I'm better at eating than at cooking. My mom's side of the family is from the south, and I'm learning. Somehow, nothing turns out quite as good as Nana's and Granny's cooking! Anything with fresh veggies is a go
My favorite family cooking traditions
We like trying a "non traditional" approach to events the last few years. Appetizers are wonderful on Christmas day.
My cooking triumphs
Canned salsa and apple pie filling. I can make a mean lasagna...which is never the same twice and frustrated my husband.
My cooking tragedies
Oftah....too many to mention. Probably baking. I only bake when I'm in my nesting stage of pregnancies! I leave that to my other half. Canned pickles. We made them 2 years in a row from "no fail" old family recipes. No justice done there. They were way salty and terrible!

Watermelon Vodka Slush
I made these for my 7/7/7 Casino birthday party last summer. Left our melon liquor, added 1 can of lemonade concentrate (love lemon) and upped the vodka just a bit. They were a cool, refreshing hit! Thanks

Connie's Zucchini 'Crab' Cakes
Weird......I was a bit apprehensive about trying, but we LOVE them! My hubby gets sick on crab, but loves the taste. We made these last fall and they were wonderful. My picky 4 year old even ate them. They were a bit runny even after squeezing out excess liquid. I added more seasoned bread crumbs. Next time I will freeze and extra batch for winter. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing
I made this for my 2nd Thansgiving and really pumped up the spices. I did have to add a bit more moisture, but that's expected when you have one stove and over with mega sides to make! Great! I actually admit to crossing this w/ a Sandra Lee recipe and used boxed stuffing....I know, I know.... but it was great! Thanks!
