Simple Kale Soup
Very good and easy to prepare. My wife who is not as picky an eater as myself said that you can't leave out the ham. Served with a multi-grain baguette.

Sean's Mommy's Roasted Root Vegetables
Didn't have parsnips or butternut squash. Added regular potato, garlic cloves and onions. Got turnips and rutabaga from our CSA and never cooked or tasted before. If, like me, you never had these veggies before then this recipe is a great introduction to them.

Bacon Turnip Mash
This only my second recipe with turnips. Boiling them takes some of the flavor out. These tended to be watery. I had to drain alot of liquid out before serving. Roasting them preserves the flavor much better. Even adding bacon I had to add more salt and pepper to taste better.
