About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake almost any kind of dessert. I also love to make homemade spaghetti sauce and other down home goodies. I'm not a fancy cook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom teaching me how to cook and bake. Making all kind of candies and cookies at Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
I get rave reviews on my desserts and my homemade spaghetti sauce.
My cooking tragedies
I once baked a cake calling for self rising flour. Thinking that it must be the same as regular flour, I proceeded as normal. My cakes were maybe an inch thick when baked and horrible tasting! My mom explained to me what self rising flour was! Oh well, you live and you learn!

Hot Cocoa Mix
I have to agree with some of the other reviews that this wasn't sweet enough for me. I added regular sugar to it to taste and it was much better.

Chocolate Chip Pie III
I made this with a mixture of semi-sweet and white chocolate chips(probably ended up with a cup and a half) and left out the pecans (don't like them). I thought it was pretty tasty. It is rich and not for those who don't like super sweet desserts but if you like chocolate chip cookies it's definitely worth a go!!! Good served warm with ice cream!

Gourmet Mushroom Risotto
I've never had risotto before and decided to make this for supper with grilled pork chops and green beans. It was pretty good although I must admit I didn't bite into it and think it was fabulous but my husband and I liked it as it was something different to eat. Also, if you're eating it as a side dish I think there's more like 12 servings rather than 6. I agree with some of the other reviews that 2 lbs of mushrooms are way too much. I used 1.5 lbs and it was the perfect amount.
