Creamy Cordon Bleu Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
This sounded so good and comforting, but the result was rather bland. I'll try this again, but use the sour cream as suggested and kick it up w/ some type of spicy or perhaps jalapenos.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
I rated this 4 stars as written, but it gets 5+ stars when following the advice of others by adding panko to the freshly grated parm topping then baking in the oven at 400 for 15-20 minutes. It's fantastic and was a huge winner with all in my family.

Fiesta Pinwheels

This wasn't enjoyed by my family, I thought it tasted too much like the packaged taco seasoning. I might try these again, changing up the seasoning and adding shredded chicken.

Maine Wild Blueberry Salsa

Just perfect! I did use a bit more Walla Walla sweet onion and blueberry than was called for due to personal taste. Do not shy away from this one because of the blueberries. It's really wonderful.

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
I prepared this with the dried herbs as listed using lowfat mayo and nonfat sour cream. After letting it sit for a few hours I did a taste test and choose to up the pepper, chives and dill based on personal tastes. This one will be a keeper for my family, it's great!

Cinnamon Cream Cheese Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
I agree with other users that the gelatine gives this recipe a somewhat rubbery mouth feel. I also think that 1 cup of cinnamon chips is a little overpowering (and I love cinnamon). I probably won't be making this one again.

Honey Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2009
As written, I would agree that this recipe is on the bland side. I added a dash more lemon juice than called for, heated it on the stove top until the sauce just began to bubble and removed from the heat. I then pre-basted one side of my boneless skinless chicken breasts, sprinkled that side w/ Mrs. Dash Garlic and Herb seasoning then laid the sauce side down on the grill. I repeated the basting and seasoning on the other side. I flipped my chicken back and forth on a low grill, basting each side as I turned it until they reached an internal temp of 170. They were juicy and tender, seasoned just right for me, my hubby wanted some salt on his. I will try this one again and I think I'll add some heat w/ a dash of red pepper flakes next time.

Amish Yumazuti

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2009
I can see why people complain that this is a very dry dish. I doubled the soup called for and I thought it was barely okay for sauce quantity. My husband loved the flavor and I'll be making this again probably doubling both the soup and the tomatoes. I also used fat free kraft sharp cheddar slices instead of regular cheddar which helped make the sauce have a creamier consistancy. Use low sodium soup and tomatoes to help lower to sodium content.

Fire Roasted Tomato and Feta Pasta with Shrimp

The feta makes this dish. I felt in the pan the sauce was rather bland, so I added 1 tsp of red pepper flakes for kick and extra garlic. Will make again with these additions.

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
This is good. I prepared this using o'brien hashbrowns to get the added flavor from the peppers and onions. My husband wants more meat of course! Using the o'brien mix did require additional cooking time, so next time I'll dice and cook my own until they are tender and then add them to the plain hashbrowns. Will definitely be making this one again.

Creamy Potato Pork Chop Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
My husband loved this dish. I prepared as directed, using 98% fat free soup and fat free sour cream. I could really taste the celery of the soup and will keep this recipe to try again with cream of mushroom soup instead. I will also cook longer than suggested as the hashbrowns weren't quite done enough.

Slow Cooker Chicken Continental

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
I prepared this as directed in the recipe, although I used only one small jar of dried beef and all low fat versions of the cream soups. It was not too salty, the chicken fell apart and the sauce was very good. My husband enjoyed it very much. I do think that the flavor could be bumped up hugely by adding some garlic and bacon. I will try this one again with those two additions.

5 stars for quick, easy, anytime snack or dinner for a busy family. Heck, this is simple enough that even my husband could figure it out if I asked him to help w/ dinner one night. I did use the Hawaiian rolls as suggested and these were perfect for a quick family meal after getting home late from work and after school activities. Thanks for sharing.

Parmesan Chicken I

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
Taking other reviewers comments into consideration, I prepared this in the crockpot w/o the rice and cooked the rice seperately. The flavor, while okay, was not what I expected. My family did enjoy the dish, but I wasn't that impressed and will probably not make this one again.

Chicken Tortilla Soup V

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
Using some leftover shredded chicken meat for this recipe made it very quick and easy to prepare for a "need it fast" dinner. I sauted the meat, minced garlic and onion in a touch of olive oil until the veggies were tender. I then added a 32oz box of chicken broth, one can of sweet corn, one can of pinto beans (drained and rinse), added the rest of the ingredients as called for (I used a "hot" chunky salsa with corn and beans), then simmered for 30 minutes to let the flavors combine. This was very flavorful and I will be making this again!

Biscuits and Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
If it were up to my husband he'd give this a 10 star rating....bbq sauce is a fave of his. This was quick and easy and reminds me of the perfect meal to make while camping. I used Bush's Onion flavored baked beans, skipped the brown sugar called for, and used Bulls Eye Original BBQ sauce. I also used crescent rolls instead of biscuits because that's what I had on hand. It was good, but I still thought it was very sweet for my taste buds. I will make again for hubby dear and play around w/ the different flavors of beans and bbq sauce. Thanks for sharing.

Simple Time Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
This was quick and easy! I used (2) 1 1/2" thick chops and reduced the butter and mayo down to 3 tsp. of each. I mixed them together as suggested, seasoned w/ salt/pepper and added some minced shallot. After brushing the mixture onto the chops, I added enough shredded cheese to cover and baked as directed. They took a little longer to cook due to their thickness, but the topping had wonderful flavor and turned a nice golden brown. I will definitely make these again using thinner chops or perhaps stuffing thick ones w/ the mixture and added extra to the top. Thanks for sharing, it's a perfect weeknight, get on the table quick entree.
