About this Cook
I am a stay at home mom and home maker. I enjoy cooking for my husband and young daughter so much that almost every meal we eat is home prepared. I also love having dinner parties or get-togethers where my friends and family can try my appetizers, desserts or main dishes.
My favorite things to cook
I am always trying new recipes and ideas. I love those that require creativity and you can turn you food into "art". A few of the family favorites are Corned Beef & Rice, Arroz con Pollo and Spaghetti. Those may seem ordinary, but I can make them taste pretty delicious.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom is a great cake decorator. She can make beautiful cakes and I am just beginning to pick up the trait.
My cooking triumphs
On my daughters second birthday I invited all the children from her daycare and their parents for a total of 22 kids, mostly toddlers, and about 15 adults. I pulled off enough cooked food such as spanish rice and chicken wings, finger foods, and a double size birthday cake for all guests. I felt great with all the compliments I received. Even my husband, when he first saw all the food set up, said "you really know how to throw a party".
My cooking tragedies
The worst time I ever had in the kitchen was when I volunteered to do a last minute baby shower cake. I baked three cakes before it came out right, so I was decorating well into the night. In the end the cake was cute, but not what it was supposed to be.
