About this Cook
Im a 27 year old single mom of 4. I worked in resturaunts in the New Orleans area for about 5 years when I was a teenager and I come from a family of amazing cooks.
My favorite things to cook
If I had the time I would spend it on trying more involved recipies. Since I really don't have much time I have to aim for fast and kid friendly foods. I also try to cut fat and unessary calories when possible, but never to sacrafice flavor.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Being raised in New Orleans you are never at a lack of diversity, and that goes for cusine aswell. I love to make Italian, French, Cajun, Creole, and Mexican as well as more traditional American dishes.

Snow Cone Syrup II
I have worked in a snow ball stand, which is what we called snow cone stands in New Orleans. This is the recipie they all use. Also you can use this for Italian soda. Just add a shot glass of the syrup to soda water and cream. Also if you want a vanilla or amaretto flavor omit the koolaide and add extract according to strength.

Rock Candy
I would give this zero stars if I could. Rock candy is supposed to be a supersaturated solution when you mix the sugar and water together. That means you should have more sugar than water not equal amounts of both. Of course, when you leave sugar water out it feeds bacteria, just like if you would leave meat out. The main thing is to try to make sure everything is as sanitized as possible and go for a recipe that has a sugar:water ratio of 2:1.
