This recipe was exactly what I needed it to be. I was looking for a soft but sturdy chocolate chip cookie recipe to use for a stacked cookie cake, and this one fit the bill nicely. I successfully doubled the recipe with no problem. I used butter flavored shortening, and mini chocolate chips. Baked in 8" cake pans, stacked with icing and iced like a cake.

I made these for a party at work, and they went over really well! Out of everything that I made, these were the easiest, and the first to go. I'll definitely be making these again!

This was really easy. I threw everything in, along with some minced garlic and a couple of bay leaves, and five hours later it was done! I ate this on a bun with some deli mustard, my hubby (who doesn't like sauerkraut) just picked out and ate the sausage. I really liked this, he just thought it was okay (to be expected). I may try making this with a few onion slices instead of kraut next time, but if you like kielbasa, sauerkraut and beer, you'll love this!
