About this Cook
I feel blessed to be a true Southerner. Born in Savannah,Ga.,I have lived most of my life in Tennessee. The South has such a great diversity in cuisines. From seafood to down home country cooking and don't forget "THE BBQ". I've been married for sixteen years, no kids(except my dog-children)and I have been a Respiratory Therapist for almost twenty years.
My favorite things to cook
I have been known to be a "crock pot queen" but lately I've been trying to cook simpler meals with less gravies and sauces. I like to find recipes that are easy but unique. And I use my grill A LOT! I live in the South, we grill all year long.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The annual five course pre-Christmas dinner with that I make for my husband and my parents as a gift for them. I get out the fine china and crystal for this dinner. My Mom and Dad love it.
My cooking triumphs
When anything I cook makes people happy.
My cooking tragedies
The only thing I can think of was making a blueberry sorbet in a new ice cream maker. It got all over the counter in the kitchen and stained it. And it didn't taste that great!

Slow Cooker Sweet and Sour Pork Chops
Did this in the pressure cooker for about 20 mins. Left out tomato paste. Husband LOVED it. I didn't think he would. Talked about a great dinner the next day.

My Mom's Parmesan Chicken
Made this once and followed the recipe except used 1/4 sherry,1/4 white wine. Excellent and DH loved it. I'm making it again tonight.

Oreo(TM) Cookie Cake
Made this for dessert for my parents (very small, casual)anniversary party. Used devil's food pudding mix w/3cups of milk as suggested by another reviewer and I used the two full packages of cream cheese and didn't find it too tangy at all. Brought the leftovers (makes aLOT) to work next day and everyone loved it! Will try making w/FF ingredients next time.
