loved it!!!! The kids loved too! Took some reviewers suggestions and used brown sugar and less then called for. I never fry anything...but this was so incredible will make again!

This was really good! Everyone in the family liked even with my substitutions. It would probably have been even better if I had the ingredients on hand. What I did: cooked fresh asparagus, used Kirkland (costco) deli style ham cut up, cream of mushroom instead of cream of asparagus and pre-shredded mexican style (4 cheese blend) cheese instead of swiss. I also added quite a bit of pepper for a little seasoning. I might try it again with a mix of the mexican style cheese and swiss.

My family has been making this exact recipe for years!! My mom would make every Thanksgiving for as long as I can remember and I continue the tradition (so going on 30+ years). It is always good and makes great leftovers when in the mood for something sweet. I usually leave out the cherries, but good either way.
