About this Cook
I'm a second year university student. I live in a dorm with five other girls. Needless to say, sometimes we eat well, sometimes not so much; it usually involves chocolate though!
My favorite things to cook
New things each time, pretty much.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, it was meat/potatoes/corn every night... not a favorite of mine anymore. I started learning how to cook after getting tired of my dad's hamburger helper. However, I do like that I rarely ate beef growing up, my father hunts so it was always venison, elk, caribou, moose, you name it! I didn't appreciate it much then, but now I realise what a treat it was. Also, growing up in a small seaside town will forever make me a restraunt seafood snob.
My cooking triumphs
Sushi, some great maranades, chicken cordon bleu, roasts
My cooking tragedies
It involved olives and asparagus tips in a mustard sauce. Don't ask.

Baked Squash and Maple Syrup
Tasty enough recipe, really runny though! Practically a soup. And hey hey now, "uniquely American"!?!!? Don't forget about your trusty norther neighbors!! :)
