About this Cook
I'm a teen and I only started cooking outside of the realm of confections about 3 years ago.
My favorite things to cook
I truly enjoy baking(things such as cookies and cakes) and other confections. I've done that since I was a kid. I also enjoy cooking baked poultry :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Easter (or any other significant occassion that we have enough molds for) we make festive chocolate lollypops at home.
My cooking triumphs
In my househould, I am famously slated for poultry, confections, and potatoe salad! I gave a try at the Cold Oven Pound Cake recipi, and that I must say wa sone of my greatest accomplishments!
My cooking tragedies
Three words... Barbadian Plain Cake ...

Cold Oven Pound Cake
This pound cake was FABULOUS! I'm not the most experianced cook in the house but it tastes delicious!!! My mother said it tasted like the pound cakes that her relatives from the south used to make when she was a child. My siblings commented that it was too dense and moist, but quite honestly, I have no problem with the consistancy! I will most definitly make this cake again!!!

Easy Sugar Cookies
This is a great recipe for beginning bakers :) It's easy and doesn't require ingrediants that you'll need to run out to the store for! Everyone loved these cookies! I actually roll the dough balls in a cinnamon sugar mixture before I bake them, which gives them a snicker-doodley taste :) These cookies came out soft and delicious for me! I often only bake half of the dough and freeze the rest for later! Great time saving idea when you're craving some home baked goodness! :D

Barbadian Plain Cake
This recipie was great. I'm a 15 year old starting to enter the world of cooking and let's just say I'm a little more than shaky. I took the cake out of the oven like 5-10 minutes early, so it fell in. :( But even still, the texture of th cake was so moist...almost like a custartd in a way but more solid. The outside of the cake was cripsy and it actually tasted quite great! My family went nuts over it and they usually consider things spawned from my hands toxic! If you have more than 2 months experience, I'd definitly try this one.
