About this Cook
I am a graduate student at Tufts University pursuing my Master's in Nutrition. I am also a dietetic intern at Tufts Medical Center to become a registered dietitian (RD). Although I typically don't practice what I preach, I love finding ways to incorporate healthy foods into delicious meals (especially for my boyfriend who is anti-health foods).
My favorite things to cook
I absolutely love to bake. The number of times that we have ended up with 3 pies around our apartment just because I felt like baking is insurmountable. However, we never seem to finish all the pie. I love cooking with my boyfriend because we always find new and interesting recipes to try and work well together in the kitchen. Chili is definitely another one of my favorites.
My favorite family cooking traditions
At home, my mom keeps the Pennsylvania Dutch tradition of cooking pork and sauerkraut on New Years. Also, she always makes me my favorite chicken which she calls "Cait's Chicken."
My cooking triumphs
Probably baking Christmas cookies this year and having my mom tell me that they were probably the best cookies she had ever tasted. Also my pumpkin cheesecake at Thanksgiving because everyone ate mine and none of my gramma's!! Lastly, when my boyfriend and I made crabcakes over a caeser salad for his parents and they deemed them "restaurant quality."
My cooking tragedies
Can't really think of any, except for the time I stuck a sandwich from Wendy's in the microwave with the foil still on! Oops...
