Janine's Best Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
I have never had the urge to make homemade banana bread before, but I had three bananas that were too ripe for me to eat and I was feeling conservative, so I thought I'd give it a try. I followed the recipe exactly as it was written and the finished product was superb! My fiance and I have already polished off half a loaf (I just made it yesterday) and I don't think it will last through today! Thank you so much for a wonderful recipe!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
I made these pancakes this morning for breakfast and they were terrific! I followed the recipe exactly and just added a little more milk to the finished product as I like them a little thinner. They were delicious with great flavor and texture. Thank you for a wonderful recipe!!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
I made this for my fiance yesterday and he liked it so much that he asked me to cook it for his family when they come to dinner! I did add one can of chicken broth, two soup cans full of water, and only used one can of biscuits (plenty of dumplings from just the one can). I let it cook for about an hour after I added the biscuits and it couldn't have been more perfect. I served it with some steamed veggies and crusty bread - great meal!! Thanks for a great recipe!

Easy Alfredo Sauce I

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
This sauce was fantastic and so easy to make! My boyfriend is extremely picky about his alfredo sauce, won't even consider most of the Italian restaurants out there, but he LOVED this and requests it over and over. I did add a little garlic and some salt to jazz it up a bit, and it is a hit at my house! Thank you for such an easy, delicious recipe.

English Muffin Bread

Reviewed: May 10, 2009
I made this bread yesterday for the first time and it was an instant hit! I followed the recipe exactly and ended up using about 5 1/2 cups of flour. My boyfriend is crazy about English toasting bread, but says this is ten times better than store bought and we will be making it over and over. Thank you for this great recipe!

Cherry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2008
I made this recipe for my daughter who just gave birth to my second grandchild (sorry, had to brag!) and it came out perfect! I followed the recipe exactly and softened the cream cheese in the microwave for 10 or 15 seconds after breaking it up in chunks and used bottled lemon juice. I had no problems with it - it set up beautifully and tasted great. I liked it even better than baked cheesecake myself. Thank you for a quick, easy recipe!

Chess Cake

I LOVE this recipe. I have made this three times in the last month and always get rave reviews. One helpful hint - I find the cake part of this hard to stir, so the last time I made it I used a potato masher to mix it up and it made the stirring a lot easier! Thanks for a great recipe.

Gravy Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2006
Great recipe!! I used olive oil to brown the pork chops, then used that same pan to sautee some mushrooms I had left over from another dish. Added the mushrooms to the soup, left out the water all together, and they were absolutely delicious! Really easy, and very good comfort food - the gravy was great over mashed potatoes!!

Crispy Herb Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2006
This is one of the best chicken recipes I have ever made! I used skinless, boneless breasts, added some freshly ground pepper to the coating mix, and drizzled the leftover melted butter over the chicken just before I put it in the oven. It was fantastic!! I think I'm going to try this next time on some breast tenders to make homemade chicken fingers. Thank you so much for a fast, easy, delicious recipe!

Whipped Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2006
Great recipe! I wrapped the sweet potatoes in foil and baked them alongside the roast I was cooking then peeled and mashed them when they were done. A quick and easy side dish that got rave reviews from everyone who ate it. One theing, I did have to put in more brown sugar than the recipe called for because my husband likes them really sweet.

Chicken Pot Pie III

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2006
I tried this recipe the other day when I had some left over roasted chicken and it was awesome! I've found I had to use both full cans of soup (guess I had a lot of chicken!), and I used frozen pie crust to make it even faster. My husband loves it and I'm making it again tonight. Thanks for a great recipe.

Cheesecake Topped Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2005
I made these for a party we had last night and they were a definite hit. However, they were a bit too rich. I think I'll try the melted chocolate topping others have suggested next time to cut down on some of the sweetness. Also, I had problems with my layers separating. Any suggestions? Thanks for a great recipe!

Chicken and Mushroom Saute

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2005
Absolutely wonderful! Very quick and easy and very flavorful - my husband and I both loved it. I used canned chicken broth instead of the water and bullion (that's what I had on hand), and, since I was out of parsley, I put a little rosemary in the sauce. Delicious! I will definitely be making this a regular at our house.

Bob's Awesome Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2005
I could not believe how well this recipe turned out. I followed the directions as written except I used the no boil noodles and used 2-26 ounce jars of spaghetti sauce. Absolutely the easiest and best lasagna I've ever made. My husband said we had to give this one five stars, and I would give it more if I could. Thanks for a great recipe!!

Chocolate-Almond Fudge

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2005
This was my first attempt at making fudge in a very long time, and I was very pleased with the results. This recipe is easy to make and turned out great (my husband loved it!). For me, however, it was too sweet and I could taste the marshmallow creme above everything else. Good recipe, and I will probably make it again.

Deidra's Hot Wings

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2005
Great recipe!! I used the cajun seasoning and Louisana Hot Sauce and they were wonderful! I used a little more hot sauce than suggested - almost a full bottle for a pound of wings, and my husband and I loved them. They were so hot they actually made my lips numb! Great recipe, and I'll never pay $6.00 for a small order of hot wings again!

Wonderful Banana Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2005
I have to admit that this was a very easy recipe and a nice way to dress up a plain yellow cake. I was a little disappointed because I thought the banana flavor was way too subtle, but I followed others advice and made a frosting of banana pudding and whipped cream and it did help it a little. And, the longer it sat in the refrigerator, the better it got. I thought the cake itself was a little tough and may try preheating the oven if I make this again. Thanks for an easy recipe.

Mozzarella Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2005
This recipe is definitely a keeper! I was a little worried about the long cooking time, but the chicken was very moist and flavorful. I used low sodium, low fat soups and substituted cream of chicken for the cream of celery because that's all I could find. Served it over brown rice and it was a huge hit!

Italian Style Flounder

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2005
Sorry, but this recipe just didn't do it for us. We thought we'd give it a try, but even my fish loving husband wasn't thrilled. I can't really say what it was that wasn't to our liking, but I know I won't be making it again.

Tropical Chicken I

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2005
Fabulous!! This dish was so tasty and so easy to make - no leftovers at our house! I followed other user's advice and used brown sugar instead of white and found that it added a nice color to the final result. I also used prepared mustard instead of mustard powder because I didn't have any. Served it on a bed of brown rice and poured the sauce over all - yum!
