World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2008
THE BEST homemade lasagna I have EVER had! Seriously tasted like it was from an Italian restaraunt! It was SO good it was well worth the time spent on making it!!! I won't be making this one for my "everyday" lasagna only b/c it did take an hour & a half to simmer the sauce, but this is a keeper for a good weekend meal!! THANK YOU for posting this one!

Dirt Cake II

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2008
Made this in a bowl (lined with saran wrap) at 6:00 am, put in fridge & at 11:00 am I transferred by lifting it out, saran wrap and all, into the back of a brand new dump truck for my son's 3rd birthday party. It was so yummy & looked great! I served into little dump trucks for the boys to eat out of. Brought left overs into work & people gobbled it up. Thanks for posting - great recipe!

Lemon Poppy Seed Amish Friendship Bread

REALLY, REALLY good! I just made this up last night & tried a piece with my coffee this morning. There is no calling this one dry like the last Friendship Bread I tried from this site. Can't wait to take this one & share with friends & coworkers! Thanks for posting this one - it's a keeper!

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
This was so good! I was wondering if it would be a little bland so I added some Basil, Oregano & pepper to my Parmesan Cheese & Plain Bread Crumb mixture. I served with the Garlic Dill New Potatoes from this website and green beans and it was a perfect meal! This one's a keeper for sure!

Amish Friendship Bread I

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2008
It wasn't anything to write home about. I think I've gotten spoiled with the bannana breads & pumpkin breads that I've been baking so this was pretty blah to me. I baked for 55 minutes & it was too done on the bottom. Wondered if an 8 oz container of sour cream would make this more moist...

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2008
LOVED it! Next time - will only use 1 1/2 - 2 breast, 3 was A LOT! I think you could use 1 1/2 and cube small & would be perfect! I boiled & shredded my chicken this time, used a Pilsbury crust that I formed into a circle on my pizza stone. I also used 1 1/2 times the hot sauce & butter mix b/c some had said there wasn't enough but we decided it would probably be plenty hot for us, only used about 1/2 a bottle of dressing, think 1 bottle would be too much & make the crust soggy. Tricked my husband who doesn't like Blue Cheese - he thought it was Ranch! I just never said anything as he was calling it Ranch. Also, didn't use a whole bag of cheese, just what I thought looked like enough & that was about 1/2 or just over? This one's a keeper for sure though!! Made a 2nd time - 1 1/2 chicken breasts & Boboli thin crust were perfect!

Banana Sour Cream Bread

One word - WOW! Seriously, this was THE BEST banana bread I've ever had! I cut the recipe in half & made 2 loaves b/c I only had 3 overly ripe banana's. This recipe is a keeper for sure!

BLT Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2008
I did not like this but my mother, husband and a coworker said they liked it OK. I made for a family pot luck ove rthe weekend and had almost all of it left over. Not sure if htat's b.c there was so much food or that people really didn't like it. Anyway, brought the left overs into work. It didn't have much flavor other than the onion. I used the Hidden Valley Ranch dressing package made up as dressing as another reviewer did. I will not make this again as I didn't care for it.

Hash Brown Casserole II

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
LOVED this dish! Served to two other couples tonight with pork tenderloin & everyone said they liked it. Heard that it was creamier than one had made with her recipe that is similar. I used cheddar cheese & I see what on revier said about a little greasy, but we let it sit on top of the stove for a bit when it came out of the oven & I think that helped. I will be making this again for sure! Definatly a keeper for our house! Thanks for posting! Very easy to make! Oh, I did only need 1 1lb bag of potatoes, there was no way you needed 2 lbs of potatos! Also used cream of mushroom soup...

We did not like the flavor of the meat once maidated with this. I'm sorry to say, it's not a keeper for our house. We thought it was too sweet. Followed the recipe, used filet's & marinated for about 24 hours in the fridge.

Sesame Shrimp Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
The flavor was good, it was simple to fix and I would make it again, but there was no wow factor to this dish. I used a fresh chicken breast that I had cut into pieces rather than shrimp and I added carrots as well. I put the chicken in first, then red pepper & carrots, added green onion & snow peas. All was crisp & had a nice yellowish color, not gray as some others had found. I did stick to the recipe & used teriyaki (low sodium) and the sesame oil for cooking. All of that being said, we did both like it and I would make it again.

Fry Bread Tacos II

VERY tasty & VERY easy! I had no idea what to expect but wanted to give this a try. My husband and I both really liked this. I used black beans instead of pinto beans as it just sounded better to me for a mexican dish. This one's a keeper! Thanks for posting...

Chipotle Crusted Pork Tenderloin

LOVED THIS! I can not say enough good things about this!!! I had never made a pork tenderloin before and was really surpised at how inexpensive this was to buy. I served with corn on the cob and potatoes that I cooked in foil packets (butter & Mrs. Dash) on the grill. A KEEPER FOR SURE!!! Thank you so much for posting this recipe!

Very good flavor. Marinated overnight & used a top round steak rather than flank steak. Would have liked some sort of a sauce to put on or dip in. We ate with white rice for dinner and was very tasty! This ones's a keeper...thanks for posting!

Real Sopapillas

These were GREAT! A lot easier than I ever thought they would be & I will be making these again for sure! Some were puffier than others, but they were all very good! I did one at a time in a large saucepan since I do not have a deep fat fryer. We sprinkled with cinnamon sugar right after pulling from the oil. This one's a keeper - thanks for posting!

Apple Breakfast Popover

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2008
I really liked this but my husband did not. He said it had a weird egg & apple combination. He did eat two pieces though! I think I would make again knowing that he wouldn't eat it b/c I did enjoy it. He prefers the flakier crust of the Pilbury apple turnover where I prefer this apple breakfast treat! Thanks for posting! Made a 2nd time for my Mom & a friend & they both liked. I only used 1 Tbl water in sauce this time & liked a bit better that way.

Buffalo Chicken Strips II

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2008
These were great! Tasted just like the ones we get at our favorite old hang out Tanner's! I did like another reviewer suggested & marinated in evaporated milk & coated in flour. We decided it we did that again, we may throw on the grill as we think that may take away some of the "softness" that you get to the breading from the sauce. Not bad, just we think that may help or eliminate the breading all together. These are a keeper though!!! UPDATE - made a 2nd time & be sure to marinate in the evaporated milk & coat in flour mixture. We did not this time & threw on grill, they were a bit dry. Next time think will marinate, flour & throw on grill.
