Sounds wonderful, but please let your unsuspecting guests know ~ I have a child with food allergies and this would be something that could kill someone in a heart beat.

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
Really good! I used Frank's hot sauce, doubled the recipe everywhere else. I did not add onions as my son doesn't like them, so I doubled up on what the recipe called for garlic. I didn't have basil so I used a bit of oregano and a bit of tarragon. Very good!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
This was really good! I was pleasently suprised. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it doesn't taste like chiken and dumplings to me. It was more like chicken pot pie in the crock pot :) Still tasty, tho! I followed the recipe with the exception of adding a handful of shredded carrots and about 1/2 c. frozen peas.

Wonderful, easy recipe! We absolutely can't use peanut butter because of a peanut allergy, but they turned out absolutely wonderful! We also eliminated the nuts but followed the recipe otherwise to the letter.

Ew, no...this wasn't what I expected. My asparagus ~ very thin so it wouldn't be tough ~ was just that. Tough. We didn't care for this at all. Sorry! I really did want to like it!

Not very good ~ didn't taste like lasagna at all ~ but I should have known that when I saw there was no ricotta. I just didn't like the flavor of this.

Cowboy Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
Good cookie! Yummm! I halved the recipe since I only had one egg on hand...but other than that, followed as is. Didn't even need vanilla! I think that the cinnamon chips would be awesome in it as one other reviewer said. If you are a cookie dough freak like me and my kids, you will LOVE this dough! It is SO good! I think I cooked the first batch just a few mins. too long as the bottom of the cookies had "hollowed out" in places...so the second batch I just watched really closely. My oven is a bit wonky, so I can't blame the recipe. The second batch was perfect ~ gotta love oatmeal scotchies!

Garlic Cheese Grits with Shrimp

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
Oh.my.goodness. I was born and raised in GA and have never in my whole life heard of combining my two fave things ~ grits and shrimp. Knowing grits as a breakfast food and shrimp not so much...just didn't sound like a good combo. My husband went on a business trip to Missouri and came back saying that the dish was good. So...I tried it. I didn't have cayenne on hand, so I added a few shakes of Franks hot sauce (hey...I am in the south, I DO have hot sauce :))...and for cheese, I wasn't sure on what to get, so I use onion and chive cream cheese. I cooked the grits in chicken broth like someone suggested. Didn't use fresh tomatoes...but I had canned some tomatoes this past summer, so I used that. This is definitely a keeper!!! Yummy!

Hamburger Soup III

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
Yummy! I thing the recipe was good as a starter ~ but I did change some things like everyone else did. Firstly, we don't eat beef much, so I never have it on hand. I made it with ground chicken and used chicken broth instead of the beef broth. I used 1/4 cup sliced baby carrots (next time I will leave them out as my family really doesn't care for cooked carrots). I had 3 small ears of frozen corn that I nuked for a minute, then sliced the kernals in the soup. I used 1 large jar of stewed tomatoes that I canned from the summer. Didn't have the peas, so obviously that wasn't in there ~ and I used dried onion as my middle son will not eat cooked onions. I also didn't have macaroni noodles, so I used medium shells. I put a couple of shakes of Worchestershire sauce in and it was great! I served garlic bread on the side (my version, hamburger buns, halved, butter spread on and some garlic salt w/ oregano). It was really good!

Ham and Cheese Breakfast Quiche

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
We had this for dinner, actually. It was a hit ~ even to my 9 year old daughter who detests ham. She asked for seconds. I basically followed the recipe...but I had a huge bag of hashbrowns, so I doubled the eggs and cream and cheese. I made it in two different dishes. One was a not so deep but large stoneware dish and the other was in a deep pie dish. The deeper one came out way more fluffy. I think that next time, I will put it all together in one because of the fluffiness. This is a keeper :)

Oatmeal Butterscotch Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2008
These cookies tasted very good...they were moist and had a perfect taste...but they didn't hold together well. The only thing that I changed was with the brown sugar/white sugar. I didn't have enough of brown sugar, so I added a little bit more white and added a tbsp. of molasses (that is all that brown sugar is anyhow). I have had this problem before with oatmeal cookies, though.

Not the best. I didn't have parmesan, so I used 8 oz. of swiss. Everything else was followed. I am trying to find a quiche recipe that I had made before but this wasn't it.

Tater Tot Casserole II

This was ok. I will make again, but will make some changes suggested by other users. I made it mostly according to the recipe, but I browned the beef first and only cooked it for 30 mins ~ which wasn't enough. It was still just warm. I should have cooked it longer.

This was pretty good. Definitely not the best that I have had, but it is a good recipe! I think what I didn't like about it was the cucumber dressing ~ but I am just not a big cucumber fan. I would try again w/ mayo :)

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2008
Very good! I eliminated the butter and the olive oil and used Pam spray for less fat (worked really well :)). I didn't use the sherry, either, though and I cut my chicken up into bite sized bits AFTER it had cooked in the mix so that it would be more tender and easier for my kids. Wonderful! Will make again! Thanks!
