About this Cook
I have been married since 1995 I have two children. I love everything about food from growing it, to cooking it, to reading about it to shopping for it and especially eating it. My focus is now on eating healthy.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook Sunday dinner with all the trimmings. I also like to try new foods.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I enjoy cooking with my daughter. We love to bake cookies, cakes and pies. We usually end up giving away more than we eat because we would eat everything in a few days. We do a lot of baking during the holidays and everyone looks forward to our cookies, sweet potato pie and coconut cake.
My cooking triumphs
My daughter requested a checker board cake for her birthday. I was a little nervous because each time I attempt to make the batters run together and the presentation is ruined. The cake I baked for her birthday was perfect. Friends couldn't believe I baked it myself.
My cooking tragedies
I live in Maryland and a summer is not official until we have feasted on crabs. We usually drive across the Bay bridge and get a bushel of crabs at least once each summer. Once I got the bright idea to steam my own. Bad idea. A crab jumped out of the pot and crawled all over the kitchen.

Luscious Lemon Cake
This cake is pure lemony goodness. I don’t usually like box cakes but this has a homemade taste. I used ¼ lemon juice with the water. I thought it would be nice to pour the glaze on the top but that would have just made a sticky mess. I was skeptical about pouring the glaze on the bottom but it worked perfectly and seeped through the entire cake without making the cake soggy. My entire family loved this and have already requested that we make it again soon.

Pasta with Hot Sausage Sauce
This was pretty tasty and easy to prepare. My sauce was also a little watery but still good. My kids enjoyed it so I will make it again.

Italian One Step Casserole
We enjoyed this. I browned the sausage first but otherwise followed the recipe. I used a good quality, spicy Italian sausage which added to the success of the recipe.
