Yes Folks, this is the best. That's all that needs to be said. I did add tsp. good vanilla and ground cinnamon to apples. I might take this one to the fair! Thanks Moshasmama!!!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
Thanks so much for the recipe, Donna!!! This will be my GO TO recipe for everything from rolls to loaf bread. I just made one regular loaf of bread and a pan of 7 cinnamon rolls out of one batch of dough. YUM!!! Turned out AWESOME. Thank you thank you.....

Bread Pudding II

Very good recipe. No "WOW" factor, but very good. I used sourdough bread. I will make again, but I might play around w/some additional ingredients, like chocolate chips or something. Thanks for the recipe, Ellen.

Rum Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2008
This is a good recipe. It was not quite sweet enough for me, so I will adjust the sugar the next time. I am making it for a bread pudding also on this website, and I'm excited to try it. Once the sugar is adjusted to my taste, this sauce will be very addictive!!! Thanks for the recipe KDA949.

Holiday Cranberry Chutney

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2008
Very good! I made this today to practice for Thanksgiving Day. I try to make things at least once before company comes over and eats them and let me tell you, this chutney is going in my permanent holiday recipe album and I will serve this every Thanksgiving and Christmas from here on out. Wonderful flavor, beautiful color, and it smells soooo good while it's cooking. I will make another double batch to give as gifts too. Thank you for a new holiday tradition recipe for my family, Cheryl.

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

I've had this dish on several occasions and I looked on this website for the recipe. Great dish and the perfect recipe for it. Came out perfect, followed the recipe exactly as written. Thanks Betilda. This one is going in the permanent file box.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2008
The perfect muffin recipe. I used chocolate chips and skipped the topping. Came out absolutely perfect. Not too sweet, beautifully browned on top. I will make probably every weekend, since my husband and son love muffins. I will also try blueberry and any other berry or fruit to change things up. I know it will work. Thank you for posting this great recipe, Colleen.

Poke Cake II

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
I made this cake for the first time yesterday for Easter and it turned out good. Easy to make and easy to eat. I was not blown away, but I will experiment with other flavors like other reviewers suggested. I made a cherry cake and it was good, but not 5 star worthy. Peach would probably be good... Thanks for the recipe, Karin. I will make again.

Rolled Buttercream Fondant

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2007
Fantastic recipe. I followed it exactly as written and then as suggested, added a little extra sugar at the end for texture. It came out beautifully. I made a test batch and it takes Wilton gel color well and it even tastes great! I might try almond extract as well. I did not have clear vanilla, but it came out white enough, besides, I'm coloring it anyway. Thanks for the recipe, Kelley! It's a keeper.

Grilled Wild Duck Breast

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2007
This was the first time for duck breast for us, so we thought we'd try an easy marinade. The flavor of the marinade was fine, but our meat still had a little "wild" flavor. Next time, we will soak it a little in brine before we marinate. We also grilled this for about 10-12 minutes on each side and as you can see in the picture, it still came out medium rare. I guess duck is an extremely bloody meat. Thanks for the recipe, RKC. I will try this marinade again.

Smoked Salmon Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
The only thing I did different was add about 3 TBlsp. scotch to the sauce. It turned out pretty good. I might make again and fiddle with it a little bit, but overall I was a little dissapointed. Thanks for the recipe, Jennifer.

Praline Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
I took this to Christmas dinner at the in-laws and it was very good. Not great, but worth making. I did add ground ginger, nutmeg, and cinnamon to the potatoes when I creamed them. I think that really helped it a lot! I also took the advice of others and 1 1/2 times the topping, but it did not need that much. The recipe is fine as written. Thanks for the recipe, Mike. I will make again.

Martha Washington Candies

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2006
These were actually very good. I did not give the recipe 5 stars because I made some alterations as other reviewers suggested. I only used 1 stick of BUTTER, and 1 box (or 1 lb.) of sugar. They came out the perfect consistency. Once I balled them out, I placed them in the freezer for about an hour before dipping them in chocolate. Not too pretty, but very tasty! I might try the melon baller thing the next time. Thanks for the recipe, Willi. I will make again.

Buckeye Balls II

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2006
Only reason I did not give 5 stars was I did as other reviewers and reduced the sugar. I discovered that 1 box (or 1 lb.) is the perfect amount. That comes to about 3 1/3 cups. I don't see how one could use 4 cups, my dough was almost too dry. But, they turned out beautifully! My first time making buckeyes, so I am excited! Thanks for the recipe, Allison. I will use for my buckeye (or peanut butter balls as we say here in Tennessee Vols country) recipe from now on!

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2006
This was pretty good. The only thing I was dissapointed in was that there was no "shine" to the glaze on the popcorn once I baked it. It was almost sugary looking. It tasted great! I used chopped pecans instead of peanuts, and it turned out great. Just not as pretty as I wanted it to be. Thanks for the recipe, AnitaLouise. I will make again for parties and the like.

Corn Chip Crunch

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2006
I so wanted this recipe to be good. I love salty/sweet snacks. This burned in the oven after only 20 minutes. It isn't sweet enough either. I won't make again. Thanks anyway for the recipe, Nancy, and for trying something new and different, something other than the old Chex mix.

Peppermint Brittle

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
Pretty good recipe. It does need a little peppermint extract in the chocolate, so I added it in. I also added another layer of regular chocolate chips to make it prettier. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm not unwrapping 30 small candy canes. I used about 10 regular sized ones. Thanks for the recipe, Brenda! I will make again for Christmas.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2006
This is a great basic white bread recipe. It is perfectly sweet the way the recipe is written. No changes here, just sprinkled a little coarse salt on the top and brushed with an egg wash. Came out beautiful! Thanks for the recipe, Peg. I will make now on a regular basis.

Pumpkin Roll I

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2006
Great recipe! I followed other reviewer's advice and substituted pumpkin pie spice instead of all the different spices. I really like the combination of caramel and pumpkin, so I drizzled caramel sauce on the cheese mixture before I rolled the cake. YUMMY! I did not use the "two towel method" as suggested in the recipe. I just used foil, greased and floured, under the cake and then just another piece of foil on top to roll it right on the pan. Thanks for the recipe, Tammy! This one goes in the dessert recipe album.

Spicy Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2006
These smelled pretty good in the oven, but they came out rock hard and I followed the recipe exactly. I was a little disappointed. I spread cream cheese frosting between them and made little sandwiches which made them a little better, but overall I was sad.
