The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
I love this recipe, and add Anise oil or extract when baking these cookies. They taste just like my grandmother used to bake and the smell is intoxicating! I use the Sugar Cookie Icing on this site and they turn out so beautiful!

Orange Almond Anise Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
This was the best biscotti I have ever had! I used 2 teaspoons of anise extract, and added diced candied green cherries. I used the suggestion made to reduce the temperature to 260F for the first baking, and then added a few minutes to the final baking phase. Crispy, wonderful aroma and taste, and gorgeous!!

Poppy Seed Dressing III

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2010
I have used this dressing for a few years now and my family raves about it. I use it on macaroni salad, spinach salad, and cole slaw. It is just the right amount of sweet/tart and is always a hit!

Magic Lemon Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2010
This is a delicious lemon pie, and so much easier than the traditional lemon filling. I would definitely double the meringue next time, as it was not enough to make a high topping. This is a keeper for me!

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2009
I made these yesterday and did not have enough sour cream, so I substituted lowfat vanilla yogurt and they turned out beautifully. Delicious, moist and full of blueberries. I made 12 extra large muffins and 1 loaf. It makes lots of batter. I will be using this recipe always! My "reviewers" gave it five stars!

Peach Praline Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
I used more brown sugar, almonds and Kashi crunch cereal in the topping for this. It was sweet and crunchy. I always use my mother's pat-in-the pan pie crust, flaky and delicious! This was a winner with fresh summer peaches!!

Sandy's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
I baked this cake and used the frosting listed this week. It came out so lovely and the three layers rose beautifully. It was really tasty the first night, but after refrigerating overnight and for the rest of the week, it was downright addicting! The refrigeration made the rich chocolate taste stand out. We absolutely love it and it will be my new "favorite" chocolate cake recipe.

Pork Chops with Sour Cream and Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
I changed so much of this as was suggested by other reviewers, and some of my own ideas that it was nothing like the original, but the basic idea is what I am rating. Turned out delicious. I floured the chops and browned in my electric skillet. I sauteed onion and mushroom in butter, garlic and country herbs, added the sour cream, mushroom soup and about 3/4 cup beef broth, along with about 5 tbls. of honey mustard. I simmered this for a few minutes, poured over the chops and cooked on 300 degrees in the electric skillet for 20 minutes. Delicious with lots of gravy!

Maple-Garlic Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
I made this yesterday, using a 3-1/2 pound boneless pork roast, which I had marinated overnight. What a delicious flavor, tenderness and so juicy. I roasted in the oven at 375 for 1 hour and it was perfect! I made gravy using the potato water, drippings, dijon and a tablespoon of maple syrup. It was delicious and my family voted it a "keeper" for sure! The amount of marinade was just right, even for this larger roast. I am looking forward to some delicious sandwiches today with the leftovers.

Holiday Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
I have been making chicken salad like this for a long time and it is delicious! I add red grapes with the dried crans, and since I have been adding my "secret" ingredient, it has gotten even more raves. I add one teaspoon of Chinese Five Spice Powder. Nobody can identify the special addition, but if you try it, you'll see just how much it improves the taste. It is indescribable!
