I am married for 8 years, and have two daughters from a previous marriage. I also have 5 beautiful grand-children. I work in the hospital, a certified nursing assistant. I am just now 50, and love to cook, especially trying new recipes.
My favorite things to cook
We mostly eat chicken, pork, beef... I like to cook Low Fat meals whenever I can. I don't like to fry anything. Except maybe bacon from time to time.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to use my crock pot, never use it unless I am off that day. People do this, but I don't like leaving it on for a long time and not be home. Although it would be nice to do this and having dinner ready when I get home from work. Sometime I prepare meals the night before and have them the next day. I also love to re-heat leftovers, when there are some. For next day meals or just to freeze.
My cooking triumphs
I would have to say my holiday meals...Or meals I make for my daughters and their families. I get a lot of praise from son-in-laws. It's nice cooking for them. My daughters are always calling for tips on cooking. It flattery me, and my son-in-laws love it. Their wives are turning into really good cooks.
My cooking tragedies
First marriage, not such a good cook. Learning as I go....But after only a few years....I did great. my very first roast was so bad we gave it to the dog....She didn't even want it. Sad!!!
