My favorite things to cook
Hmmmm..... My husband tells me I cook a lot of chicken! I enjoy making dishes/casseroles with a Mexican flare. I love to try new recipes and am told one of my biggest downfalls as a cook is that I rarely make the same thing twice. In my defense - I am still figuring out what all of my favorites are!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I enjoy making coconut cream pie for my Dad (it's his favorite) and occasionally making homemade sauerkraut buns, custard kuchen or nefla with my Mom from my Grandma's recipes.
My cooking triumphs
Anytime friends or family enjoy my cooking is a triumph for me :-)
My cooking tragedies
Hmm. Recently I accidentally (not sure how!) used breadcrumbs instead of yeast in a batch of cinnamon buns. That was sure a big waste of an afternoon! And what a silly mistake! I grabbed the wrong jar and obviously did not look at it closely!

Fish Tacos
My first time having fish tacos and we really enjoyed them. The sauce I would say 5 stars, the fish 3 - so I split the difference and went 4 overall. LOVE the sauce (made as stated) but the fish seemed a little bland somehow.... Maybe needs a good squeeze of lemon or lime and a bit of salt right out of the fyer? Overall will definitely make the sauce again and tinker with the fish. Thank you!

Chicken In Basil Cream
This was delicious! Made exactly as stated except for the pimientos as our store does not carry them. I used capers instead. Husband and I both gobbled it up. YUM! Next time might thicken the sauce a bit with flour/water paste…. Served with green beans and rice. Thank you!

Zucchini Alfredo
Excellent! A new favorite. I did add a little extra milk to make more sauce, and will season it up as others suggest next time with more garlic, mushrooms, salt etc as on its own is a little bland. The basil is just delicious in it! I love this recipe!
