I love to cook & eat. I like an array of food & there's not too much I will not try. I'm 26 and have been married 1 year. My husband is a good eater, so I get to try new things all the time. Although I realized in this last year of marriage, that I am responsible for our eating habits. So I have to be careful to establish healthy eating habits, which is fun because my love is not too picky. I've also had to learn to cook on a budget, but it's still a heck of a lot cheaper & healthier than eating out every day.
My favorite things to cook
Chiken-so many possibilities
Cookies-they make people happy
Stir fry-it's a super quick, easy, & healthy meal for two.
One pot meals-feels like home
Slow-cooker meals-my god I'm learning to love this device. It helps me have a hot meal ready, when my workload is very heavy.
I could go on...
My favorite family cooking traditions
My father says he taught my mother everything she know about cooking. He probably did, with the help of his mother, 3 sisters, and 4 brothers. My fathers family did not have a lot of money growing up, but always had a garden. Fresh foods are a must for my family. You can see spansih roots from my Grandmother in our tamales & empenadas & my Filipino roots from my Grandfather in our always present white rice and my love for noodles.
My cooking triumphs
My sister in-law's wedding cake, I can't believe it looked so beautiful.
I made the family Thanksgiving turkey in 2006 & they volunteered me to do it again in 2007.-Guess it was good =)
My cooking tragedies
My poor husband loves me so much, he'll eat it & tell me it's good; even though I know...it's a tragedy.
Fried Chicken, taco oil fire, fallen cake, lemon bars stuck to pan, chicken BBQ fire...I'm sure there'll be more I'm only 26.
