Cordon Bleu Chicken Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
My husband just told me that dinner was scrumptious. I think it was a first. I was out of some of the ingredients so I used rosemary instead of thyme, plain potato chips instead of corn flakes, and velveeta instead of swiss. Don't pass this one up!

Easy Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
I cannot believe I made such delicious gravy! I was really worried about it, but it turned out FANTASTIC! I boiled a ham hock for a couple hours, adding more water as some evaporated, then used the water as the base for this recipe. I added rosemary as suggested for pork. It was served with the Rich Mashed Potatoes and my Christmas ham. I wouldn't change a thing!

I don't know anyone who doesn't like this family favorite. I think the crust is best if set out overnight after baked than just 1 hr. YUM!

No-Headache Holiday Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
Maybe I just don't like holiday sauce, but this was too tart for me. I made it for Christmas dinner and I noticed it was left on many people's plates. I don't think I'll make this again unless I want to top some vanilla ice cream with it. It smelled fantastic but it just didn't taste very good.

Pillsbury Crescent Bacon-Cheese Tartlets

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
These were good. I didn't roll out the dough like it suggested I just pinched it off. I think this made my dough too thick so I will be sure to follow directions there next time. I don't think I had enough filling, so I will probably make just a little extra. My family has requested I make this again!

I made these for Christmas dinner and everyone raved about them. I had a few people ask me for the recipe. I served it with the Easy Gravy recipe submitted by Argo. Thanks so much for submitting this keeper!!

Goulash I

This was a pretty good meal. My favorite part was that it was cheap and easy! I added cumin, corriander, and chili powder as well as milk and ketchup to make it creamier and flavorful.

Apple Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2008
I made the recipe as directed. It was very good and best of all, very affordable. They were wonderful right out of the oven. I think I might add a touch more cinnamon next time and maybe sprinkle some sugar on top as they come out of the oven.

Throw Together Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
Affordable and tasty! My fiance' told me, "I actually really liked it." I guess he's been kind with this new cook in the past. :) We didn't have the olives or the taco sauce, so I just used more salsa. I also topped the casserole with 6 pieces of cheese. I only heated it for 23 mins and it was hot all the way through. YUMMM

Chicken Enchiladas I

Reviewed: May 28, 2008
YUM! EASY! I omited one can of tomato sauce and the water. I accidently added the taco sauce to the filling rather than the end, so I used the extra sauce in my pan to cover the enchiladas at the end. My fiance and I downed them and had plenty left for the next lunch (or few)! I served this with a mixture of whole kernel corn and creamed corn, and a side of Mexican Rice II. Since I bought a 10 pack of tortillas instead of an 8 pack, I made the Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Delight for dessert with the extras. CHEAP and EASY!

Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Delight

Reviewed: May 28, 2008
I accidently bought a 10-pack of tortillas when I only needed 8. It was a good way to use up the other two and give us a dessert for the enchilladas I made. Butter and cinnamon sugar...YUM!

Ham 'N' Cheese Quiche

Reviewed: May 27, 2008
I didn't really like this recipe. I have never had quiche as a pie vs. the individual servings, though. It seemed greasy. If I were to try this again for some reason, perhaps I will use less half and half and reduced fat cheese to see if it turns out more to my liking. I was really confused because I love all the ingredients so I thought I would like this for sure! To each his own.

Brigid's Blackberry Pie

Sooo yummy and EASY! If you're thinking about making this, I recommend making your own crust to save about $2.50. It took me three small crates of blackberries to get to 4 cups. I will be making this again and again!

Fruit Pizza I

yum, yum, yum! what a great dessert!! my family gobbled this up. i used fat free cream cheese and equal by the spoonful for the topping, and it seemed to come apart in the fridge. i would reccomend using sugar for that part. for my topping, i used kiwi, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, bananas, grapes, and nectarines. i also used store-bought sugar dough to make the process a little quicker with less dishes. the crust baked up more than i thought it would but it was a welcome surprise! this didn't last long in my house!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2005
My family really liked these, but they were a little soft and goopy for me. It could be that I undercooked them, but I think there was just not enough flour in them. I like crunchier cookies, though. My grandma asked for the recipe.

Baked Spaghetti I

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2005
This was an easy, easy dish that my family really loved! The cream of mushroom soup really added flavor, and the cheddar cheese thats inbetween the layers was bold, too. The only things that I changed about the recipe were that I added more parmesan cheese and I also used diced tomatoes with some sort of spicy peppers in them. I didn't really notice that the spice was there though, I think it was because of the soup. I will make this again and again!
