About this Cook
31 year old mom of 4 month old twin boys, Matthew and Nicolas. They have very particular taste and I find myself on here daily gathering recipes that I can make quickly and make the whole family happy. It's not easy to work all day get home at 5:30 and serve dinner by 6:00, some days a half an hour is all you've got. And with two screaming toddlers at your ankles the slow cooker is my best friend. I love comming home to a home made roast beef with veggies all ready to go.
My favorite things to cook
I love making gift desserts, by gift desserts I mean the kind of beautifully presented cake or banana loaf that you can give and have someone appreciate. If ever you have a difficult person at christmas to shop for, bake them some nice holiday cup cakes, comes from the heart.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family when I was growing up was into take out, and ordering food and I've chosen to do my best to keep that away from my children and make home cooking a family affair. Even at 18 months old my twin boys help make banana bread, they're great little banana mashers.
My cooking triumphs
The day I baked my first from scratch pie crust, I got the recipe here it's fantastic easy and wow's everyone even my critical MOM! I invented a berry filling and it just happened to turn out fantastically and my husband requestes it every year on his birthday.
My cooking tragedies
I cannot grill a steak if my life depended on it, I leave the BBQ to my husband. It's always over cooked or way undercooked.

Apple Streusel Muffins
Not too sweet, very moist and flavourful. I used fat free sour cream and they turned out wonderful. Also threw in a 1/2 cup of apple sauce and cut back the sugar to 1/2 a cup. Kids loves them, my mom loved them...HUGE HIT.

Caramel Pudding Cake
Very simlary to French Canadian Pudding Chaumeur, except you'd use maple syrup. Nice dense cake, not too sweet and the caramel sauce also not TOO overly sweet very nice once cooled has a creamy texture. I made mine without raisins and next time will try Quebec maple syrup.
