Halloween is coming it will be here very soon

a holiday to celebrate by the light of the moon

houses are decorated with spiders & bats

ghosts & witches with scary black cats!

Pumpkins are carved into Jack O’ Lanterns

many quite fancy using intricate patterns

demons and skulls and ghosts and ghouls

cutting and carving using specialised tools!

Mom’s spend all day baking Pumpkin Pies,

Witches Fingers and some Spooky Halloween Eyes,

They make a hot dinner of Pumpkin Stew

and a cauldron of Hot Spiced Witches' Brew!

Children are excited to dress up in costumes

as they walk the streets inhaling the fumes

they go door to door a “Trick or Treating

its what they all shout it’s the Halloween Greeting!

They expect an answer they really want candy

if you don’t give them any they’ve the toilet roll handy!

Home they all trot with their bags full o’ loot

lets hope its all packaged and not full of fruit!

The evening ends by the Halloween bonfire

we watch the flames soaring higher and higher

Marshmallows on sticks in the fire we roast

telling fables and legends each one of a Ghost!

As usual thanks for stepping through, take a minute more to just say BOO!

My favorite family cooking traditions
Each Christmas I make a gingerbread house for ourselves and the children love decorating it with me. I also make one for my kids schools and they raffle it.
