I am happily married to my hubby of 19 years. We have 1 child, which is grown and now out on her own. We are both from logging families. In the summer of 2008 we finally bought a lovely old home in the heart of the Nicolet National Forest and we love it here!
My favorite things to cook
I love to make homemade bread by hand. At Christmas everyone comes to me for candy and cookie recipes, because if I don't already have what they are looking for I just come to allrecipes to get it, lol :0)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to try new recipes! My favorites are ones that have been handed down from each of my grandmothers that nobody else has!
My cooking triumphs
I am a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants (as Grandma called it) kind of cook. I used to follow the recipe to the letter, and I still do if it's my first time making something, but the original recipe is always changed by the 2nd time I make it!
I won homemaker of the year at the fair!
My cooking tragedies
My family loves "porcupine meatballs". The first time I ever tried to make it we ended up eating "porcupine casserole" because the meatballs fell apart. That's what I get for not having an exact recipe, lol.
