About this Cook
Hi everyone! My name is Sandy and I have a restaurant at the curling club. It is the closest I can get for now to the real thing!! I am married and have a husband who wants to try everything I cook.. My taste-tester. I have been cooking for over 20 years and love every minute of it. But I have one problem... I can't cook for a small group. I seem to end up with more than I should and could feed the entire community! Each Sunday I do a buffet at the curling club lounge and the towns people make their way here after church for my buffets. It is such a great feeling to know that you make people happy just by cooking for them.
My favorite things to cook
I like cooking all kinds of different things. My family is into the real meat potato meals. I come from a German background so perogies are a big favorite as well as cabbage rools. My mom makes the best ones! I have a recipe for a Chicken Almond Stir-fry Salad. It is to die for!! I will be putting it on the web site to share with one and all.
My favorite family cooking traditions
For the last few years our family has grown so much that we all do pot-luck when it comes to big family dinners. It is nothing for 20-30 of us to sit down in mom dad's little house and have a feast. And a FEAST is what it is when you all contribute to the meal. It is great fun and what a variety.
My cooking triumphs
My carrot cake. I have been told it is the best dam cake ever!!! I will share it with you also.
My cooking tragedies
I think my biggest tradgedy in cooking is making brownies!!Yea I know of all things. I can't even make them from a box. They never seem to cook all the way through or they look like I burned them. Maybe it's my oven but that is one of my great OOP'S.
