About this Cook
I'm 26 years old, married, and living in Chicago. I'm a music teacher for middle school students near the city. I LOVE to cook when I have the time, which lately isn't a lot! I'm the choir director, club sponsor, and working on my Master's Degree a few nights a week. Whew!
My favorite things to cook
I'm in love with pies lately! My last few success have boosted my confidence. I want to try some breads next....
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother makes wedding cakes, occasion cakes, and cookies out of our home for a living. At Christmastime, our house would be FILLED with all sorts of specialty cookies. The smell and sight of those is a great memory.
My cooking triumphs
My latest two pies (Bumbleberry Pie II and Grandma Ople's Apple Pie) have been a HUGE hit.
My cooking tragedies
I've had a couple, but can't quite remember the details. I must have tried to put those memories from my head!

Tres Leches (Milk Cake)
Very easy! Very moist cake, but nothing exceptional. I did not find that it was too milky as in other reviews. You have to let it soak overnight to get the real juicy effect!

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast
It's a little too sweet for me.

Ratatouille
It's a good recipe. I think I chose a bad eggplant. It's texture was not good!
