I love holiday cooking most of all. I always make our favs - corn casserole, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, sourdough biscuits, dumplings, turkey & cornbread dressing with lots of cranberry sauce, earthquake cake, coconut & chocolate pies, fruit salad and sherbet punch, yum yum! And of course, there's always smoked cheese and summer sausage with buttery crackers while you're waitin' for dinner! Watching my Granny make dumplings the old fashioned way - I miss that a lot. I'd also help her make little peach fried pies, hog punch & dodger bread. Sounds icky - but was soooo good. My first holiday to cook everything in my big new kitchen - everything was great - 44 people showed up and all was perfect - there were no leftovers, but everyone was full and happy! Luckily I haven't had any tragedies.....yet!
