About this Cook
I'm a young 22 year old wife and mother of my 1 year old jack russell terrier named Bailey who is in my pictures! I started out with very little cooking experience before getting married. I was quite afraid to try complicated recipes. It all looked like unreadable mumble jumble to me. However, I was quite impressed with myself when my husband & I got married & moved in together to find out I was rather good! Since then I can't keep myself out of the kitchen. I LOVE trying new recipes & challenging myself with some more difficult ones & I absolutely love to bake!
My favorite things to cook
Well I would have to say that my favorite thing to do is baking! Other than that I like to cook anything, I like a little challenge & I like trying to replicate restaraunt recipes to surprise my husband with! I'm still trying to master general gao's chicken so if anyone has a great recipe let me know!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Again it would have to be baking some treats to bring over on the holidays.
My cooking triumphs
I impressed myself very much when I made strawberry cheesecake for the first time! It was sooo delicious.
My cooking tragedies
One night for dinner I decided to make buffalo chicken. My husband was on his way home from work & my brother was staying over for dinner. So I started prepping everything when my brother decided to run to the store for me & grab some blue cheese. It only took 5 minutes after he left when I heated the oil & left it on the burner a little too long. I set all the fire alarms off & our condo was filled with smoke! Luckily I thought to myself, no one was home to see my disaster. So I open all the windows & dumbly opened the door to our unit...when I set off the entire condo fire alarm & all my neighbours came down to see what happend. As if I wasn't humilated enough to tell them it was just me, the fire department came down & had to blow the smoke out the windows. Finally when everyone left my brother returned from the store. I was all teary eyed & embarrassed & told him what happend, he laughed soo hard & couldn't believe that he missed all the action the 15 minutes he was gone!

Cookies 'n' Creme Fudge
Delish!! This was soo yummy!! Another great fudge recipe to add to my collection! My family has said I'm the official fudge maker of the family it was that good :) My only suggestion, I took another reviewers advice of using christmas oreos that had red creme instead of the normal white for a more festive look....I got more of a halloween effect turning the entire batch of fudge red! So I will no longer do this unless I'm using it for halloween cause it was quite gross looking....luckily it didn't bother us & we still ate it all up :) But I would't give it as a gift to someone looking like that! Use regular white creme filled oreos!

Wonton Soup
This is a good base recipe for when I'm craving wonton soup & its pretty darn good! But its still not quite as good as the resturants. Still, I'd make it again when I'm in the mood for some & don't wanna go out!

Apple Strudel Muffins
Oh My were these AWESEOME!!! I made them exactly as the recipe was the only change I made was I didn't measure the apples I just used 3 normal sized apples. They were wonderful & I don't think that a change needed to be made what so ever! It filled the house with a wonderful aroma too!! My hubby couldn't wait for them to come out of the oven & neither could I! Absolutley wonderful recipe!!! I will be making lots of these, we love them for a quick breakfast!! One of my favorite muffin recipes!! The strudel topping made exactly enough topping for all my muffins too unlke some recipes where you have way too much & don't know what to do with the rest! I just love this one, thanks for sharing this great recipe :)
