I graduated in March 2005 from college and have been blessed with a microwave until I recently moved in September. That's when I started cooking--I was forced to! Little did I know I would grow to really enjoy it.
My favorite things to cook
Anything that will impress people. Particularly, I like recipes with garlic, mushrooms, and/or artichokes. My favorites!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm not hip to those quite yet. One funny thing, though, is that my grandmother is known for making EVERYthing from scratch by the family. Everything, that is, but mashed potatos, which, for whatever reason, she's always made from powder. (They're disgusting)
My cooking triumphs
The first time I cooked something at home (just a few months ago) without Mom watching over my shoulder--spaghetti. It was great!
My cooking tragedies
Ugh, the first time I made grilled cheese sandwiches was not pretty. I didn't know how to do it, so I toasted the bread. When the cheese didn't melt, I stuck the toasted bread and cheese in the microwave...it was chewy and gross.
