After leaving the Quad Cities in my formative Teen years I have lived all over the country and now reside in MN. My household consists of 2 cats and me. One cat shy of crazy cat lady status. :) Desserts. I love to bake, I am working on cooking but it doesn't hold the same draw for me that baking does. Cakes, cookies (cut-out butter cookies are my specialty), bars, pies, learning candies... You name it, I'll try it. I have become the Christmas baker for my family. Not quite sure how that happened but I love it. I start in November and bake until just before Christmas. Every year I try something new, sometimes it is so well received it becomes a new staple. I made and Isle of Sudor cake for my friend’s son's 2nd birthday. He wanted a tunnel so I made a mountain cake with a hole clear through it. Miracle of miracles, the thing not only stood but transported well. Too many to name. They usually involve cooking and not baking.
