About this Cook
Hi there! I am a mom of one teenage boy, married with 2 dogs, 1 fish and 1 cat. I work full time in a private physician office.
My favorite things to cook
I love grilling all year round. I think my favorite things to cook are chicken, thanksgiving dinner, crock pot meals, quick easy throw together meals that taste like you've worked all day. I am not much of a baker but I keep on trying!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a very small family. My mother worked alot and didn't have time to make big huge meals, and we rarely had a traditional "sunday dinner". My grandmother on my mother's side could take 4 things from the fridge/cabinet and make something awesome. I love that. She never measured anything ever. Now I do things alot like her. My husband and I always try to do sunday dinner because I think it's important for family to have at least one night between sports, work, school, meetings, etc. to sit at the table and spend time together over a great meal with everyone.
My cooking triumphs
I have mastered my spaghetti sauce. Everyone loves it!
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 22, I was baking a cake, and forgot the oil. A simple "box" mix. I decided 7 minutes into the cake, I'd add the oil...Well it was forever known as the "gum cake" after that. I'm not much of a cake/cookie baker as a meal maker!
