About this Cook
I love to cook & bake! I've been cooking since I was assembling meals for my mom as a child. It's been a passion ever since! I currently run a custom cake shop in the Philadelphia Suburbs. I feel very blessed to live my life around food!
My favorite things to cook
Don't know that I have a favorite. I just love to make yummy food! I'm Italian, what can I say?
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holiday Candies, Cinnamon rolls on Christmas Morning, Pumpkin cheesecakes at the holidays.
My cooking triumphs
A very successful cake & gourmet candy business. Also, not using recipes. I love to make stuff up as I go along. I take great pride in being able to take what I have in the cabinet and create a new recipe with it. The downside, I am not normally able to duplicate exactly the same recipe twice cause I don't write anything down.
My cooking tragedies
I bought inexpensive ground meat once. It was AWFUL! We were eating all kinds of bone and cartilage. It turned our stomaches so quickly we threw it away! I'm much more careful these days! ha ha

Raspberry Crumb Cake
I just made these and they are SO good! I did make a couple of changes though. I am not a huge fan of straight raspberries so I used Blackberries, Raspberries, and a small pile of Cranberries. Mine is more of a Berry Crumb Cake. Also, in the crumb topping, I used 1/3 graham cracker crumbs to 2/3 flour. I did a 9x9 baking dish and 12 muffins. (I didn't want to cut the cake to taste but I couldn't wait till company came tonight.)I also made a lightly sweetened cream cheese drizzle for the top. I ate two as soon as they had cooled enough. Made these again as cupcakes and made a couple of changes. I used blueberries (fresh) this time and did 1/2 water 1/2 orange juice in the fruit compote. Although the cake was really good last time, I wanted something a little more moist and less dense. I added 1 cup of sour cream and 1/2 a package of vanilla pudding to the batter. These are so good! My husband and I each ate 2 and had to control ourselves to keep from eating more!

Too Much Chocolate Cake
What a fabulous chocolate cake recipe! My mother in law is a chocolaholic so I made this for her Birthday. I kept to the 2 cups of chocolate chips only I have a little mini food processor and I chopped them up so I had all different sizes of chips. It really helped to distribute the creamy chocolate of the chips evenly throughout the cake. It worked awesome! I used the satiny chocolate glaze and drizzled over the bundt cake, I then took butterscotch chips, melted in the microwave, put in a plastic ziplock, cut the corner (tiny hole) and drizzled the butterscotch back and forth over the glaze. It made for a beautiful presentation. I also took some Hershey's Heath Bar Crunch pieces and sprinkled them over the top. It is most definitely a favorite way to go. At the holidays I intend to do the satiny chocolate glaze with a little peppermint oil for a "mint chocolate" icing! I'll drizzle with melted white chocolate chips for that. Thanks for an awesome recipe! By the way, I also made this cake for my husbands work, I used a cream cheese icing which was good but according to my husband, the glaze with butterscotch is much better. I'm making again today and want to try using strong coffee instead of the water in the cake mix. I'm editing to add that I've been making this recipe for a while now. It's my FAVORITE! I have been baking and decorating cakes and this is my most requested. HOWEVER... for reasons I can't explain it doesn't always come out consistent. Sometimes it is WAY to
