About this Cook
I am married and have 5 children - all teenagers. I work for the American Red Cross and have very little time for myself or to spend in the kitchen with complicated recipes. With so many to feed and so little time, I am always looking for easy first, quick or slow cooker, next with few ingredients. I am also a brittle diabetic so I limit the number of sugar desserts around the house and attempt to alter sugar recipes to make sugar free and tasty recipes.
My favorite things to cook
comfort, feel good, and tasty dinners - meals that "stick to the bones" chocolate goodies that make others feel good
My favorite family cooking traditions
Secret sausage gravy recipe my banana pudding both regular and sugar free are to die for monkey bread crockpot cooking
My cooking triumphs
all of the above traditions nearly all of the recipes that I have tried from this site lemon pound cake with lemon glaze. the cake i did on my own but the glaze i found on this site
My cooking tragedies
sugar free chess pies fried chicken. I've tried many recipes but I just can't seem to get it right.

Tuna Pasta Salad with Dill
LOVED IT! though I deleted the milk, used 4 cans of tuna and added a squirt of prepared mustard - it was fabulous!! Thanks.

Savory Crescent Chicken
THIS WAS INCREDIBLE!! It was super easy and all five kids and their finicky pallets loved it. I did not use the pomiento's and seasoned the chicken a little with basil, mrs dash, and dill before adding it to the mixture. Other than that and increasing the servings to feed 8 instead of 4 - it was perfect. I was hoping to have some leftover to take to work for lunch but that surely didn't happen. Thanks so much!!

Peanut Butter Bars IV
I loved this recipe. It was so super easy and quick to make. Once it came out of the oven, I poured the rest of the choc chips and a bag of pb chips, let them melt and then spread it out like a frosting. The kids came running!! Thanks for making smiles.....
