Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Pretty good, but certainly not the best cookie I've ever had. Also, be aware that it is fairly cakey if denser, chewier cookies are more to your liking.

Sean's Falafel and Cucumber Sauce

I halved this recipe in order to put it in a 12 slot mini muffin tin, but then forgot to half the banana. This turned into wonderfully moist muffins and everyone loved the texture! I also sprinkled a small bit of white sugar on top before baking to give a crust and hid 1 semisweet chocolate chip into each muffin for a nice suprise. Great recipe, quick and easy

Salsa De Tomatillo

Excellent, and extremely easy. To those saying it's too hot, make sure to clean the seeds out of the jalapeno before using it--if you do that, they should have very little heat at all.

Hungarian Goulash I

Very good. I put in probably a tablespoon more paprika and also used kielbasa sausage in place of some of the beef. Came out very well. I may try adding some carraway seeds next time...

Chicken Tikka Masala

Excellent. Not quite restaurant style, but very good nonetheless, and easy to make. Per the suggestions, I cut down my salt a lot, using 2 tsp in the marinade and .5 in the sauce. It came out pretty well, but still a touch salty--I can't imagine what it would have been like with the full amount!

Naan

Great recipe. I tried grilling it on a rack above the gas stove, straight on the oven rack and set at a high broil, and in the george forman. Get the oven hot enough and that's the perfect way to do it in the middle of the winter or when you don't want to deal with a grill, though I imagine that would taste good too. Puffed up perfectly!

Indian Chicken Curry II

Such an awesome recipe. I had leftover roasted chicken from the night before, so I pulled a comparable amount and simmered it closer to the end. A little too spicy for my personal taste, but all that needs is adjustment in the cayenne pepper at the end. Awesome with jasmine rice and the Naan recipe here.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Excellent. Quick and easy, and the combination of tangy and spicy goes very well. I combined it in Peppy's Pita Bread with peppers and onions I briefly sauteed in the drippings, and it was heavenly.

Cream of Pumpkin Soup

Made this for 16 for the family Christmas Eve dinner. Everyone loved it and demanded it become tradition, and even my cousin (a chef in a top resturant) thought it was a wonderful soup. I did not have a food processor or blender, so the soup was not smooth, but but the onions had a good texture so I do not think I will puree it in the future. For me, I thought it could have used more kick, and next time I think I'll be testing out fresh ginger and pepper and perhaps a stronger cinnamon. The croutons were perfect, and I also added slightly less cream and whipped some for people to add on top. Overall, a great recipe...but basic enough to play with it and make it your own.

Very good. If the dough is too sticky to knead, it may solidify after a bit of time, or you can just drop chunks of it on the pan with a spoon. I used butter instead of shortening.

Scrumptious Sweet Potato Casserole

Quite good. I especially liked the crust on top, and think I may drizzle a bit of maple syrup into it next time. The only problem I found was that the potatoes seemed to lose a bit of their flavor with all of the milk such mixed in, but I think this was probably more a function of it being hard to get good sweet potatoes in Germany. But, like others said, even people who don't like sweet potatoes were eating this dish.

Pan-Seared Chicken Breasts with Shallots

Very good. Excellent over rice, and I suspect mashed potatoes would be equally as good. Make sure to reduce it down enough though, and/or add cornstarch/flour--it can be a bit too runny for the rice. I'll certainly make it again!
