About this Cook
I am a 41 year old wife and mother of 2. I work full time and attend college full time, so I am pressed for time to cook. Although, when I am home,I find myself in the kitchen quite a bit as that is where I love to be.
My favorite things to cook
I love comfort foods. I love cooking in the winter when I can fill the entire house with the smell of food cooking all day.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Breakfast on Christmas morning. After opening gifts, we all get in the kitchen together and turn out the breakfast of champions.I love that time we all have together cooking.
My cooking triumphs
I have recently made a barbecue sauce my family and friends raved about. Everyone wants my recipe. I like to mix my own seasonings and sauces to make dishes my own.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I grilled, I started the charcoal too early and the food did not cook thoroughly. I threw the whole mess out and ordered pizza. Since then I have done research and watched a lot of Bobby Flay. I am now the Grill Master at our house. The boys would rather have me at the grill instead of their dad.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff
My family loved this recipe. The chicken cooks up nicely in the crockpot and the aroma is wonderful. The finished product reminds us a little more of an alfredo type sauce, but we are definitely not complaining. Great Recipe!

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole
I made this recipe tonight. I had some leftover ham and didn't want it to go to waste. I found this recipe and it was a hit. No leftovers after an hour. Mind you, I have two teenagers and a few of their friends. Everyone loved this. I did use Cream of Mushroom instead of potato soup (it was what I had on hand), cut the sour cream down to 8 oz,used 4 cups of cheddar instead of parmasan cheese(again, what I had on hand). Next time I will follow the recipe to the letter and decide which I like best. Rave reviews from everyone at our house!

Taco Seasoning I
This recipe is the best. My husband and son cannot tolerate spicy foods, so I leave out the red pepper flakes. It turns out perfect every time. I will never buy taco seasoning again.
