My family and I love this recipe! I have made it many, many times for large gatherings and it is always a huge hit. For Valentine's Day I made this recipe in keeping with the spirit of the day. I took unpeeled potatoes and sliced them about 1/2 inch thick. I used a small metal heart-shaped cookie cutter and cut a heart out of each shape and used both the heart and the outside with the heart cut out in lieu of potatoes cut into cubes. I also add chopped, cooked bacon pieces to my recipe. Delicious!
