About this Cook
dstar40@windstream.net say where you are writing from. I am married 18 years and mother of 4 boys. The boys are very active in Boy Scouts / Cub Scouts. I enjoy trying new and different recipes and gardening. I am currently a Teaching Assistant. I also enjoy crafts and have gotten into listening to books on tape / CD. I started listening to these when I needed to pass the time waiting for the bus.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking alot of recipes. Most of the time I am searching for new desserts to try for potlucks or for breakfasts for our boys. My favorite main dish to cook is a beef stroganoff I have perfected over the years. I also make my Buffalo chip cookies that are requested alot and a cheese cake that I came up with (a doctored up box mix) I also love the sweet dinner rolls from this website. I have made cinnamon rolls out of these and they are wonderful.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I can't say that we have any one favorite cooking traditions but my Favorite Holidays to cook are Thanksgiving and Christmas. It has taken me over 20 years to perfect the turkey to get it moist and juicy and the kids even love it especially at Thanksgiving. Ham is the preferred favorite at Christmas with a honey mustard glaze and Pineapple slices with a cherry in the center of each pineapple slice.
My cooking triumphs
Beef Stew, Beef Stroganoff and Chicken Broccoli are by far 3 recipes that my family always loves. And this says alot since their tastes are always changing.
My cooking tragedies
When I was 15 I made my first cake from scratch. My mom left me to make it all by myself. I added in all of the ingredients and when it came to the baking powder I told my mom we did not have enough. Her response was I just bought a new can. I misread the recipe and instead of 2 tsp I thought it read 2 Cups. I had the 2 right but I looked down and saw that it was 4 cups of flour. It bubbled over and the cake was not too bad till you got to the aftertaste. My second cake was to follow and mom stayed with me. A pineapple upsidedown cake. Turned out perfectly.

Fruit Pizza
Making individual Fruit pizza's for a Ladies retreat with the spread and glaze. Plan on using soft sugar cookies from the store and top with Slice of Kiwi, Strawberry & a few blueberries. Can't wait to try this out! Looks yummy. Out of all the recipes I have looked at this one seemed the easiest and most appealing. Will rate it fully after the retreat. Thanks for the recipe.

Fruit-Topped Buttermilk Pancakes
This was agood recipe. I only made the pancakes and they turned out great. The bater was not too thick or thin. I did let the batter sit about 10 minutes while I finished getting ready for the day. I used a pancake baker and they did not burn. they were fluffy and the flavor was nice and smooth. These stayed with us longer than other recipes or box mixes do. I doubled the recipe and it made 16 8 inch pancakes. They don't have the bitter taste that other recipes have and the don't fall apart either. I asked my DH and he said they were good. Our boys went for seconds. Thanks for the recipe I will make this again over and over.

Waffles II
These were ok. They were doughy in the center and not sweet. After tasting the first one I added in a small amount of sugar and they still lacked a sweet flavor. Was hoping to find a recipe that had few ingredients and flavorful without the syrup.
