About this Cook
I am a 47 year old mother of 7.I have always loved cooking. I find it a challenge and very exciting to wake up each morning and think about what I can create that day. I am very good and have a reputation within family and friends as the best cook around. I have a wonderful husband whom I love more than life itself and I thank God for him every single day! I cook when Im happy, sad, upset, tired, cranky, sick, sore, excited, bored. Sometimes I wish I didnt have to sleep. Cooking for large numbers is natural to me, I get teased for my 7 STORY salad, not 7 layers. My adult kids love to visit mom because they know she is always cooking and baking. I seldom use recipes, and when I do I usually improve upon them. None the less I still collect cook books by the scores. Next to my bible, my cook books are next in line to be read. My dream is to have a very old fashioned kitchen, including a wood stove. I would have all the modern ammenities but they would be hidden.
My favorite things to cook
Russian food, Italian food, salads, hearty home cooked meals. And bread, I love to bake bread! I have to say that I do love to cook, my hips show it however my passion is baking. I am the best cook I know of and Im not afraid to say it. Right now I cook at a nursing home and the residents and staff tell me Im the best they have ever had, though my creativity is limited because I have to follow the recipes given me for the most part. Each thing I make I always think...hmmm what could jazz it up? I do love what I do but need more freedom to do it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas eve, pirogi, fuchki, pea soup (no meat) and MINE is best. Kolachi buns, poppy seed bread, and TONS of christmas treats. I also enjoy our family summer picnic when everyone brings their best summer effort. I make a darn good chicken pasta salad and to heck with LOW FAT! Sour cream and mayo are the only way to go!
My cooking triumphs
Just about everything I make, one of my favorites is my lemon cheesecake with ginger cookie crust. I cannot help it, I just make everything wonderful! I make wonderful soups, one of my favorite is my polish sausage potatoe soup with sour cream and saurkraut!!! It is awesome!
My cooking tragedies
Few and far between, on occasion I do have something that gets tossed out but for the most part I just cant seem to make mistakes!!!

Chewy Brownie Cookies
this was an excellent cookie! I doubled the recipe and used half real butter, then added 1 10oz pkg. of peppermint chips and half a bag of semi sweet chips! Wonderful!!!!
