Ginger-Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2005
it was a bit mild for my taste but perhaps it's becos i used distilled white vinegar instead of rice vinegar and also omitted the mirin. I added 1/2 cup of soy sauce, 1/4 cup of olive oil, 1/2 cup of sugar and a sprinkling of sesame seeds as well..(inspired by another recipe found in this website, "Hallejulah noodles"). The end result tasted uncannily like a raw fish salad ("Yu Sheng") that the Chinese people in Singapore have during the Lunar New Year...next time, i will add smoked salmon!

Hallelujah Noodles

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
These noodles are so simple to make and sooo yummy! I used 1/2 cup soy sauce and found it sufficiently savoury and added another tablespoon of sesame seeds. Didn't have any baby salad greens, added some boiled chopped carrots for colour. And the recipe does improve with chilling. Thank you OutlinerCook for sharing! I will definitely be making this again!

Cucumber and Mint Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2005
I didn't have celery and used half a fuji apple instead. Also didn't use the beans and red wine vinegar! :P The salad still turned out pretty ok! Will try another time with the beans! Thanks for the recipe!
