About this Cook
I've been cooking since I can remember. As the oldest of five a large majority of what I was cooking was very large scale and so when I moved out and started cooking on my own I had a hard time adjusting. I now have it down and love to cook for my boyfriend and myself. I try to freeze stuff so that it is easier to eat well and economically throughout the week. I also pack my work lunches and so make shopping lists based on menu plans for the week. Was difficult at first but really like it now because it is fun and nice to know I am saving money!
My favorite things to cook
I love PASTA!! I also have to admit that my Fudge Truffle Cheesecake is great to make because everyone loves it and is so easy to work up.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family always makes Popcorn cake for Birthdays. Think Rice Crispy Treats with Popcorn instead and then add m&m's and nuts. SO GOOD!
My cooking triumphs
Cheesecake was a huge triumph but I'm going to say that my mango salsa over stuffed chicken breasts is a triumph because it is so popular!
My cooking tragedies
I don't really have any major trajedies. If I try a new recipe I usually give it a couple shots and if I don't like it I don't use it again.

Wisconsin Five-Cheese Bake
this was a great recipe and I love how it turned out!! I used parmesan, sharp cheddar and some provolone cheese and it was fabulous. Just the recipe I was looking for!

Chicken and Corn Chowder
was a really easy recipe to make and to adjust. I used fresh corn and added potatoes and chicken. Also, I used leftover ham lunchmeat instead of bacon and it was fabulous! I took it to work and everyone loved it. Make a large batch so I ended up freezing leftovers for future lunches!
