Oven Fresh Seasoned Potato Wedges

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
These were so good! I made just like the recipe said. My potatoes weren't very big and I cut them in 8 wedges so the wedges were on the small side. After 25 minutes I turned them over and baked about another 5 minutes. They were crispy on the outside and very tasty. Will make again.

Uglies

I liked the idea of these but I'll use different filling next time. I used Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce and that's all you could taste even though I didn't use the whole 1 1/2 cups.

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2009
These were fantastic! I followed the recipe exactly except that I added some fresh cilantro to the tacos. The sauce was really really good! I think I will keep some on hand to use on other foods.

Lemon Poppy Seed Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
This cake is moist and has an intense lemon flavor - very yummy! I used a glaze recommended by another reviewer -juice of 1 orange and 1 lemon mixed with 1 1/3 cup powdered sugar. Heat the mixture just until boiling. I poured the whole amount over the top of the cake after I poked holes in it. I used the poppy seeds but I think next time I'll omit them and just have lemon cake.

Glazed Lemon Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
A good lemon cake. I live at 8100 feet so I added 2 extra tablespoons of flour and 1 extra tablespoon of milk to adapt the recipe for high altitude. I also used the glaze recommended by NC baking girl in her review. I served this to friends and everyone enjoyed it.

Stuffed Pork Chops III

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2008
This recipe is great. I made these today and all the family raved about how tasty and tender they were. I bought a pork loin roast because it was on special and then I cut it into thick chops. I'll be making this again. I didn't have fresh parsley so I used fresh basil as another reviewer suggested. Great taste!

T Bird's Beef Jerky

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2007
I've made this twice now and it has turned out good both times. It's the first jerky recipe I've tried and I'm so glad I chose this one. I took another person's advice and used 1/2 cup worchestershire sauce. I used a little more soy sauce to make up the liquid. The first time I made it I didn't have any hot pepper sauce so I used some red pepper flakes instead. I used the hot pepper sauce this time and I like it better. I'm pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to make jerky.

Chocolate Mint Cookies I

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2007
These cookies are so yummy!I just got the last pan out of the oven and I think I found my new favorite cookie. I used 2 boxes of Andes Mints, which when you break them in half makes 96. This recipe makes lots of dough and I ran out of mints so I used mint chocolate kisses on a dozen of them, they weren't as good as the ones with Andes mints. I put the cookies in the frig on cooling racks and this set the chocolate so the cookies are easier to store. Thanks for the great recipe!

Alfredo Mostaccioli

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2007
My husband raved about this pasta, it has great flavor. I took some others advice and used 1/2 cup of parsley and just a pinch of salt. I also added 2 cooked and chopped chicken breasts. I used heavy cream rather than fat free evaporated milk and I will be making this again as soon as I work off all the calories.

Bread Machine Bagels

Reviewed: May 2, 2007
I made these this morning and they are wonderful!! I never made bagels before because I thought they would be too difficult but now I'll probably never buy them again. These are so much better than store bought ones. They are a little time consuming but not hard to do. I took the advice of another reviewer and added about 1/8 cup of water to the bread machine when it started mixing the dough. They ended up soft on the inside and chewy outside - just like I like them. I made them with "everything" but didn't think about putting spices on the bottoms. Next time I'll do that. I live at high altitude (8,100 ft) and the only change I made, beside more water, was to bake them a little longer (27 min). Thanks for the great recipe.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2006
This makes a VERY moist bread. After reading some reviews I cut the sugar to 2 1/2 cups and that was plenty. I was a little disappointed in the mild flavor, I like a strong banana taste. However, my husband said it was the best I've ever made so I'll be making it again I'm sure. Maybe I'll try some banana extract as someone else suggested.

Beef Stroganoff with Noodles

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2006
This recipe was different than the one I usually use for beef stronganoff. The sauce was a little thinner than I like but it made up for it in flavor (which my husband raved about). I did make a few changes - 1. I left out the celery because I didn't want to run to the store, 2. I used fresh mushrooms, 3. I left out the seasoning salt after reading some reviews. It was plenty salty with the beef broth and the worchestershire sauce, 4. I used lowfat sour cream. It is a good recipe and I'll be making it again.

Mom's Best Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2006
This is a GOOD brittle. I used cashews instead of peanuts and it was great. I added an extra 1/2 cup of nuts because we like more nuts and less candy. I don't have a candy thermometer so I had to use the test method in water and it was easy.

Homemade Buttercrunch Candy

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2006
This candy is great! It tastes just as good or even better than an expensive one my mother-in-law buys and sends us each year. I don't have a candy thermometer so I cooked it until it turned a light brown color and it was perfect. I THINLY spread the toffee layer on a cookie sheet cause I like a thin toffee layer and lots of chocolate. I used walnuts instead of almonds because that's what we like. I will be making this often. Thanks so much for the recipe!

Spicy Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: May 18, 2006
We enjoy this recipe and I have made it a few times. The first time we thought it was too salty so I now use only 1 teaspoon of sea salt and that's plenty. It's spicy and we like it that way. It's easy, quick and tasty.

My husband and I really enjoy this dish. I have made it for guests and they raved about it. I am tripling the recipe and taking it to a potluck tonight. I use fresh roasted chilies and the flavor is intense, just the way we like it.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2006
I have been fixing tilapia for years and this is the best recipe I have found. The flavor of the cheese mixture is so good. I fixed it last night for dinner and my husband raved about it. I made just 2 fillets so I cut the cheese mixture in half and had just the right amount. Thanks for a wonderful, tasty recipe. It will difinitely be in my favorites box!
