About this Cook
We are a military family stationed at Eielson AFB but live in North Pole, and I LOVE it here! I've always known Alaskans were friendly, but even this Anchorage-ite was amazed by the wonderful people in the Fairbanks area! We love to cook and will grill when it's above 20 below zero!! We have two kids who love to help us in the kitchen too. The dog, well, the dog just likes to lay in the middle of the kitchen praying for something edible to drop on the floor...
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook pretty much anything...my husband loves all kinds of seafoods but I am a bit picky on that...but we eat all kinds of foods and rarely eat the same thing twice!
My cooking tragedies
Ohhh, the tragedies I've overcome...most recently my Pyrex pan exploding in the oven. Slicing myself with a brand new knife, nearly eliminating a digit. I am a good cook, but I never admitted to being a graceful cook! Watch out for fingernails in that stew...

Molasses Crinkles
I first made these last year with a bunch of other cookies to give to my neighbors at Christmas. We of course saved some for ourselves and ooooh boy were they good. I made them again last month for the teachers at my school and EVERYONE loved them! They are wonderful, wonderful cookies! Can't wait to make them again this Christmas!

Peanut Butter Temptations II
Oh man these are SUCH sinful cookies! I made a huge batch for the holidays and they were gone gone in a FLASH. My husband, who is not a big sweets fan, LOOOOVES these cookies!

World's Best Lasagna
This recipe is very similar to the one I make out of the Betty Crocker cookbook with my own alterations. I used ground turkey and reduced fat Jimmy Dean ground sausage, then poured a little Merlot into the meat when it was almost done cooking. I added about a cup more of Merlot when it said to let it simmer. I am like you, I like a good, THICK lasagna that does not fall when you put it on a plate. I used a full box of lasagna noodles and came up with about 2 1/2 to 3" of thick, cheesy, and gooey lasagna...JUST the way I like it! The main reason I selected this recipe was because not only was the prep method similar to mine but it took less time to cook than my Betty Crocker recipe. With the alterations I made this is a keeper! (Okay, it's a keeper without too!)
